I was visiting a link where they have shots of Ferrari testing their new floor at Fiorano(floor which is supposed to debut in Turkey) and found figures for F1 team budgets based on this book:
http://www.formulamoney.com/

The site is in spanish but I think everyone can understand the figures:

Tbh, it's difficult to believe in those Mclaren 2010 budget. I think they spent much more.

Impressive is the Sauber budget and how efficient they are

Formula Money isn't very reliable.

I simply don't believe the McLaren figure for 2010.

If you're going to make a thread, at least try to give realistic numbers. Mercedes and 380 million? Who are you trying to kidd?!

I never believe these $$$$ threads, but it seems fairly safe to bet that the 2010 Mercedes and McLaren numbers are mixed up. Swap them and it sounds more likely.

No; I seriously doubt that McLaren are spending 170m less than Merc. Given then outward appearance of mass bling and no-expense-spared approach to making and transporting upgrades it seems more likely to be the other way round.

These figures never say whether Engine R&D and manufacturing are included in the case of Ferrari and Mercedes, which makes the comparison invalid if included.

Mateschitz did say this about their 2010 budget:

Quote

"We are definitely behind Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes with our budget."

Hey, don't question my integrity.

I don't know if this numbers are accurate but if you have something better, please share.

Look at Sauber's drop from 2009, I guess that's the shock from being a Factory team to a Privateer. Although I suppose BMW were already designing the 2010 car in 2009 before they left right at the end, so that helped them out a bit. Similar to Brawn and Honda developing the BGP 001.

These numbers are always educated guesses at best.

As others have mentioned, I find it difficult to believe that McLaren's budget fell by more than 50% from one year to the next.

I'm always amazed that sponsors are willing to put up so much money to fund the show.

What sort of split are we looking at between tv/prize money and sponsorship money for an average team ?

It depends, though. It wouldn't surprise me to see RBR's budget actually surpassing McLaren's. They have been getting a lot of sponsorship money and exposure due to their recent successes. As for Ferrari and Mercedes, it's safe to say those figures are inflated due to engine R&D. They are likely below $300m as well.

There isn't much sponsorship on that car outside of Red Bull funding.

It just looks like they transferred the Merc engine budget from McLaren to Brawn/Merc for 2010. I seriously doubt Merc spend $200m per year on their engines as the figures suggest, especially as development is now generally frozen.

Mercedes does not have such a high budget. I think it was said over and over again that they operate at a smaller budget

That 2010 figure for Mercedes is surely way off.

Is it even possible for McLaren to cut half the budget from 2009 to 2010?
I mean, even if the 2009 McLaren budget did include Merc engine budget, it can't be true that Merc spent $200MM on the engine program.
