Question to Red Bull fans

I'm wondering about the success, since, in the Netherlands, the cans are by far the most expensive energy-drink, so barely anyone buys it in the supermarket, only at places where there's no other energy-drink brand (vending machines, cafe's).
So in short, does the F1 team make you buy more Red Bull drinks?

but in the past i had a negative perception of red bull... associating it with a party drink in combination with vodka and party pills to blow your brains out.
but now... i am slightly inclined to go out and buy a red bull can.. just because it feels good... i like their image...
so seriously the brand perception has changed for me.
red bull is for me now associated with cool..., freedom loving extreme sporters...
..not anymore with opel manta-driving partyboys

i think that red bull even fills this void that was created after marlboro withdrew from all the coolest sports in the world.
everything that was 30 years ago sponsored by marlboro, is now sponsored by red bull.

It tastes likes piss, as do all energy drinks. Espiaclly the ones in bigger cans that 15 year olds buy to make it look like theyve got a can of lager.
Red Bull Cola, on the other hand...........

Never fails to amaze me how many people must drink piss to be able to make the comparison.

But there is a part of me that wanted Red Bull to have success from the start, even when I was supporting another non red bull driver and his team piggybacking on that support. That is because of their support of sports, and many of the events that I participated in or attended while growing up. I don't think everyone realizes just how much support they have given to extreme, cutting edge, new and up and coming sports venues over the years. But anyhow yeah, I'll support Vettel teams, but I'll always have a place for RBR based on their always having a place for extreme sports in their budget. And what that means is that while I won't increase my energy drink intake, I certainly won't be drinking any of the other energy drinks when I want one, RB original all the way!

You do realise that vodka and red bull is the (1am!!!) drink of choice for pretty much every (top level) rally driver I know and while I dont know any f1 drivers, if their tastes are anything like those of un-and-coming drivers in the lower formulae, they all drink it too!i dont know about existing consumers wanting to consume more.....

People that say energy drinks taste bad are full of ****, though. What they usually mean is 'the one flavor of the one brand of energy drink I tried a sip of once a few years ago' tasted bad. There are loads of good tasting energy drinks out there - I would reccomend the standard Rockstar energy drink, any of the JOLT flavors (blue in particular is great), and red Monster (I forget the exact flavor, berries or something) is quality as well.

I like the taste of Red Bull, but very rarely buy them - very rarely buy energy drinks at all, just because they're too expensive. It's hard for me to shell out 4 bucks for a little can of Red Bull when I could pick up a couple of 2-litre bottles of Coke two shelves away at any convenience store and be set for the whole damn weekend, not three or four hours at best for an extra fifty cents or so.

In all fairness, they do taste bad to many people. I hated them the first few times I tried one. When we started getting free ones at work I grew a taste for it.
I can also taste the difference now. At first they all tasted equally as bad. They have a distinct and powerful flavour that in universal from one brand to another, and only after you have a few can you really notice the other flavors that make a good energy drink from a bad one.

Why single out Red Bull? Did anyone make more calls with Vodafone after the Chinese GP?

I know I first tried Monster in 2009 (just about when they launched in the UK I think) after becoming aware of them with JB having the sponsorship on his helmet, and that has become my drink of choice ever since (khaos=YUM).
I'll still have a double vodka Red Bull when I'm out, and I don't know if the amount of Red Bull I drink would have been any different if I didn't follow F1, but as a McLaren supporter do I really want a Sebastian Vettel covered can of Red Bull?

Not at all! I'm a massive Red Bull fan (have their posters on my walls, drive my friends insane by talking about them, etc. etc.) but have never drank even a sip of the drink in my life. It smells disgusting, it looks disgusting, and as much as I adore Red Bull and all the good things they do (not just in F1 but in other sports / music / etc. as well), I don't think I can bring myself to even try their drink, let alone buy more cans of the stuff!

Marlboro fags are awful too (as a smoker).
Vodafone seems to provide a good service in my area.
Anyway, Red Bull to me are still Stewart / Jaguar....

Red Bull fans?
Are there any
they have many fans, just because the vast majority of them aren't hunched over a laptop posting on the interwebs doesn't mean they have a small fan base.
go to any gp, RB flags everywhere, i'd say easily the 3rd most supported team behind the 2 traditional super powers.

Been drinking it for years, through school and university (actually think if it wasnt for that stuff I wouldnt have passed)
As someone else mentioned I also like the image and brand, and for me it is the original energy drink, hence why I wouldn't go near Mon* or Rock* or Relent< etc.
I get good value for money from Red Bull, I read the Red Bulletin which comes free with the paper, I try to follow the extreme events and atleletes they have (2 of which are from my home country Jonathan Rea and Kris Meeke) plus I also go to some of the events they put on when in town.
Sure It's expensive but so is drinking alcohol or smoking or going to coffee shops none of which I do.
Taste wise I like it, not everyone does, what does it matter, I think smoking and brussle sprouts stink. No one is being forced to like it.
Bit of an odd question, but I was bored so I answered it.

but if I do, I buy a Red Bull.
They support sports which I like in a very positive way, and although it is just a massive marketing ploy, I genuinely get the feeling that Red Bull sponsors sports to see them progress.
They do so much for the Extreme sports and motor sports community, and honestly, I feel that what they do for the community is worth me going down and buying a Red Bull every now and then.
Yes, I'm a pushover, and I'm proud of it

THe fact that they are so rich that they don't just own one F1 team, but can afford to own TWO FORMULA ONE TEAMS, proves just how much money they are making from CO2, Caffine, Sugar, Taurine, and some kind of artificial TCP flavouring. I say we should double the tax on it overnight, and then double it again just to create an idiot tax.

By the way, I remember a guy who started a week in a forest in a military reconnaissance training exercise by insisting that he would only be eating some caffeine pills. And he really skipped meals, at least on the first day as I witnessed it. Everyone laughed at the guy and the more sensible ones worried about his health and tried to get him to eat proper food. It was not something he should have been joking or playing with, it was a serious exercise in sub-zero temperature with little sleep and I think he could have easily killed himself by fooling around like that with his nutrition. Just an example of how these sort of things can be taken a little too far... basically the guy made a complete idiot out of himself in front of his company by claiming he doesn't need anything else than some pills. Good luck with that...
Yeah, the story doesn't relate much to this thread, but thought I'd share it any way.

I can't stand the taste of the stuff, and seriously have to question anybody who drinks it for the caffien or sugar. Coffee tastes about a million billion times better that the stuff to all normal people. Anybody who drinks it and actually prefers the taste to coffee is mentally insane and needs our sympathy.

Pretty idiotic thing to post on the forum to be honest. I Like Coffee and Red Bull, Just because you don't like it, doesn't make other people idiots because they do. The fact that they can afford f1 teams proves that its popular, so you're kind of the idiot for portraying that level of single-mindedness.
...well, either that or a troll.
