Giving that Britain is currently basking in sunshine and I'm suffering from hayfever badly, it made me wonder: Do any F1/GP2 drivers' have allergies and health problems? I mean I think it would be pretty difficult to race with seasonal problems such as that - last thing you want is to sneeze going down a 190mph straight!

I know people have had sickness in the car before such as the unfortunate Mark Webber in Fuji a few years back, but anyone know of any current or former drivers that have had allergies that could have affected their driving? All input welcome. :)

As a fellow hay fever sufferer it looked like Hamilton had it pretty badly in Montreal two weeks ago before it rained- Puffy eyes, blocked nose, ect. Doubt it effects you though once you jump in the car and the adrenaline gets pumping.

Antihistamines...

Although on second thought that might not be such a great idea for some people.

Not in F1 anymore but Scott Speed suffered from ulcerative colitis.

I'm sure they have the same ailments that you and I do. It's not like F1 drivers are somehow more than human.

They're groomed professional athletes with all the support they need; personal trainers, nutritionist etc. Even I've got a daily tablet that all but negates hayfever, from which I would otherwise suffer greatly. I doubt hayfever would be a problem.

If you're fully concentrated and focused while driving, I doubt you will sneeze or anything.

Hayfever's all the mind. You could be hypnotised out of it.
