Hi all, was just reading the thread on the Flying Lap F1 show, which I'd never heard of before, but am downloading a few episodes as I type, and was wondering what other motorsport podcasts people subscribe too?

I myself subscribe to the 5Live podcast, the Motorsport Magazine podcasts and After The Flag MotoGP podcast. Not sure about the Flying Lap ones yet, but it seems to be getting good reviews in the other thread.

Love to hear other peoples favorites, and maybe discover a few I don't know of yet.

The Flying Lap is good, check out the Monaco edition with the interview with Sebastien Buemi.

Sidepodcast is fun too, as is The F1 Show. I get Midweek Motorsport from Radio Le Mans as well.

Radio Le Mans and every single broadcast they manage to produce. Once you discover them there's no need for ANYTHING else.

The Flying Lap is annoying due to that cretin Windsor. As soon as Craig starts to say anything remotely interesting, Windsor quickly interrupts with something tangential, then proceeds to thank his sponsor, then talk about something else utterly unrelated with anything that has been said upto that point and then asks Craig to continue. What a c#nt.

Thanks to this type of behavior and (drunken?) rambling monologue by Windsor the SNR of TFL is barely better than your typical RC thread, which is rather embarrassing when you consider that anyone and everyone has a say on the forums, whereas TFL is supposed to be just two 'experts' doing the talking. :|

I'll check out other programs you guys recommend here. Perhaps there are some gems to be found.

The F1 Show is a podcast I doubt many Europeans would really enjoy (as so many of them seem to scoff at anything even vaguely American) but there's a charming, every day feel to it I quite like. They get respect for being so prompt as well, with the show usually up within 24 hours of that Sunday's race. Weekly shows have more episodes than the F1 show in a given season, but for the fan that's still a bit charged up from the race he just watched being able to grab their latest episode much faster than waiting three or four days for a weekly show is nice. I've been sure to catch their shows for the last few seasons.

Only been listening to Sidepodcast for a month or so so I can't really comment on them, but that's another nice little show.

Ditto! Enoch and Jamie are hilarious but also extremely good at what they do. They honestly deserve to be picked up by a channel for coverage of some kind.

ESPNF1's podcast....Legard is on there but is surprisingly insightful, if not a bit dated. Laurence Edmonson and Chris Medland are very knowledgeable about the sport.

Another F1 podcast, the flying lap, 5 live podcast, sidepodcast and motorsport magazine. Also love F1 rejects, shame they had a lengthy break, hoping they are now back with a regular podcast

5 Live podcast, Motorsport Magazine podcast. Might take a loot at one or two others that are mentioned positively here.

I hate, with a passion, Sidepodcast. I just got fed up with all the obsequious sucking up to Joe Saward. They need (needed? They might not being doing them anymore) far more structure to those chats and less opportunity for either to ramble.

The only motosport podcast I listen too is Radio Le Mans. It's especially helpful if you are watching the endurance events, when there's no tv broadcast. Otherwise, even if watching Le Mans on Eurosport, I still mute the tv set and listen to RLM.

Just out of interest, how can a podcast help when there's no TV? By their very nature podcasts are produced after the event so unavailable when you're at it. I can understand that as an internet streaming or live radio broadcast, just not as a podcast.

Sorry, I meant that as live radio broadcast with commentary on what's going on the track. Yes, that's live radio broadcast. Language barrier.

RLM broadcasts most of their stuff (sportscar commentary and the shows a la Midweek Motorsport) live and then puts them as downloadable podcasts, so there you go.

If you're a motorsport fan like me, then RLM is a MUST for you. Buy if you're F1 fanboy, then I wouldn't necessarily recommend them because Hindy can be a bit harsh with that subject, rightfully :p

Radio Le Mans tend to cut their podcasts into one or two hour chunks (and are just their lives shows put up for download), so if you're sitting at your computer and it's five hours into the 24 Hours of Le Mans, you can go to their site and the pre-race shows and the first four hours are already uploaded, so even if you're not technically listening live, it's not like you're weeks behind. You can listen to all the RLM stuff life on their site, though, and part of the charm it must be said is just that as a professional radio service their stream is always working (audio) which is more reliable than continuously trying to find dodgy video streams that fail every ten minutes, in addition to the simple romanticism of listening to the radio and using your imagination, which is a bit like reading the book of a story versus watching the movie.

Anyone heard any decent F1 podcasts lately? All the shows I usually get are par for the course lately. The F1 Show is as American and oddly charming as ever, The Flying Lap is The Flying Lap, and Sidepodcast is 15 minutes of F1 talk and 30 minutes of begging for money. Anyone heard anything good lately?

Ermm I listen to a couple theyre pretty entertaining for commuting, esp. when you dont have to want to think too hard!
Sidepodcast is pretty awful tbh, they just dont seem to know much about f1 ^^

besides the motorsport podcast (worth listening back to some of the older episodes, good guests make that show!)

My faves are "Another f1 Podcast" which is absolutely hilarious, however they seem to have stopped making shows ever since Bernie decided to take f1 off free-2-air :D

Also "formula 1 blog" is usually very good especially for the post race podcasts. It usually has some pretty interesting angles on the race and its usually a bumper size too :)

Cheers mate, I'll check some of those out. I don't want to rag on Sidepodcast because it's decent enough most of the time but for the last few months, like I said, it's gone from 55 minutes of F1 talk plus five of the entirely-reasonable 'Hey, hosting isn't free, please donate if you don't mind' stuff to now half the show is 'We need money, we need money, we need money'.

Midweek Motorsport is good, today's News in Spanish was the best one I've ever heard. Well done Nick Daman.

Midweek Motorsport (RLM)
Motorsport Magazine Podcast
5 Live Chequered Flag

Are all worthy of my ear-time.

Listened to the new Autosport podcast yesterday. Wasn't terribly impressed i'm sorry to say. Far too F1centric for a 'Motorsport' magazine.
