Having got much more than I bargained asking after the identity of the McLaren M23 that is currently on view at the Donington Museum I thought it prudent to check which M26 chassis is being run by Frank Lyons ?

Also I believe Frank was running in his Penthouse Hesketh 308E when this picture was taken does anyone know who is driving the M26 as seen here at the Silverstone Classic Press Day back in May ?

Relevant answers may be used and credited in a forth coming blog.

Thanking you in anticipation of your responses.

I don't think it is Frank Lyons driving, he has worn a plain white crash helmet at every meeting I've seen him at in the last couple of years.

Because the Lyonses play 'musical cars' in the way that they do there is scope for confusion, but if these photos are correctly captioned Frank has worn a helmet in those colours:

Unusual for Frank Lyons (Lola T332) to be off the podium

Thanks for the Chassis confirmation NZALPA and Vince and driver confirmation David and Tim.

I am still not sure that is Frank driving the M26, here is why, also at the track that day was a Hesketh 308E seen above in the back ground,

Posted Image

and unless I am mistaken, which I could be, I saw the blond gentleman seen standing next to the 308E here, whom I believe is Frank Lyons get into the 308E,

Posted Image

And take it out

Posted Image

on to the track.

Posted Image

during the afternoon I am convinced both of these vehicles were running on the track simultaneously.

If the driver with the blue helmet sitting in the M26 is Frank, who is the driver in the mostly black helmet sitting in the 308E ?

This is Michael in the Hesketh at the Media day. Frank alone drove the M26, but I don't recall him driving the Hesketh that day.

The photos in these links also indicate that the mainly black helmet belongs to Michael:

I am not 100% clear on who drives what, when and where, but the family do indeed play musical cars. Frank wears a blue helmet, Michael the black helmet and Judy a plain white one. The F5000 Derek Bell race at Brands Mike drove the red `Viceroy` car (#64), Frank drove the Blue eagle and Judy the other car in the garage. They are enetered in 3 different F1 cars for the Silverstone Classic next week, I may stand corrected but Mike will probably be in the Hesketh, Frank the McLaren and Judy another Hesketh? They also own the Denim sponsored ex Jarier Ossella FA1D whicjh Frank drives from time to time.

As I said a few posts back, Frank Lyons has worn a plain white helmet at many meetings.

I took these photographs of the Lyon's family in the assembly area for the Derek Bell Trophy race at this year's Superprix, Frank was not wearing a blue helmet on this occaison either.

Appears to be plenty of money in digging gravel out of the ground in Essex!

David, I must have been in the same place at the same time in the assembly area for the DB race!!! I have a picture of Judy from a different angle (slightly left of your picture) waving at me. She recognised me and waved - Pink Snail was on the rear wing end plate...
