He he he, true! I wake up extra early for the Monaco GP, they show a lot during the pre-race show...

It's all about technology so they should free up the rules and let teams innovate. Which is how Lotus became the greatest team ever in F1(amonsgt others)... ah, the good old days.

I don't want to hit this one too hard, since this was not my poll, but could we lose the medium-green stuff like the entry on this poll about the 'pretty girls' and what we'd like to do with them? It seems a little over the top and disrespectful toward the women who visit, never mind are regulars on, this site. End of sermon.

I thought that bit was brilliant. I could do without the witty:rolleyes: "Schumi's dickie" post from a few days ago, but I thought the comment in this poll was quite funny. I actually laughed out loud and people around me had to ask what I was doing...

I wish sometimes I had more time to read up on the technicalities of the sport to keep my interest in that avenue.
Still F1 is the best. And I await every big crash (as long as no one gets hurt)

Second, I watch for the unexpected things that always seem to occur.

No...that would have been a scene though...
I work in an IT shop. People break out into hysterics for no reason all the time. Lots and lots of nervous twitches too.
No one even noticed...

As Ms Snow1 has pointed out there are a forgotten breed of people who enjoy F1, but I assume I didn't have a watching the blokes section because I'm a narrow minded chauvenist 84574RD.
I almost tagged the "F1 was is boring, but I'm somehow addicted" as an afterthought, so I'm surprised it pulled so many votes.
Thanks to all those who took part - it provoked an interesting response. I've logged your names and IP Addresses for future reference/blackmail.

Just love the thumping exhaust noise as they downshift into a corner and that lovely howling scream as they accelerate away. I think they should do away with commentators and let us hear the engines on tv.

Sights and sounds of the racing. I hope whoever covers F1 in the US this year will provide plenty of in-car audio/visual feeds.

THEN! I get to moralize because I think that guy didn't have the corner when he hit so-and-so off or that team owner wronged his driver with his pit stop strategy etc...
...and that's why we're all members of this bb isn't it?!

I continued to watch, fascinated with these idiots that flirted with injury/death and witnessed some unfortunate incidents live - right there in my own living room.
The spectacular accidents still keep me riveted to the TV (I don't wish anyone to get hurt though).
I look forward to the inevitable coming together at the first corner. I hold my breath, hoping that the Jordan pitstop is flawless (and anyone elses pitstop is terrible).
I screamed in disgust everytime Wurz took out Hill, then Trulli.
I sit in quiet contentment when my team (or a backrunner) scores some championship points.
I brag to my workmates when Jordan makes the podium.
I laughed when MH cried. I cried when RB cried.
What can I say? I'm hooked.

At one time I thought that, had I been raised as a driver (karts, etc.), that perhaps I could compare with the guys out there.
Then a couple of years ago I was watching JV during a pit stop when the lollipop guy double-pumped... He lifted it up maybe a foot, but then lowered it again. JV started and stopped the car within a fraction of a second and moved no more than an inch or two. I remember looking on with my jaw down at my chest. It was an awakening of sorts...these guys have some incredible reflexes.
Funny how some things stick with you. That's one I can still replay in my mind.
