http://www.acr.no/
3,753 metres long
11-13 metres wide
200 metres above sea level
Somebody needs to translate that website into English... maybe into Swedish and Finnish too? That would be nice. And into German. You guys gotta advertise the place more.

Yes, IĀ“ve heard of it, in fact my Brother and Father have been there (from the UK).
The Swedish Touring Car Championship raced there.
As I recall, it used to be an quarry, and as part of the mining agreement, the mining company had to restore the site for community use when they finished mining, so when they were done they built a race track !

Are you sure it's within the Arctic Circle? The Wikipedia article on it says "It is 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of the Arctic Circle". Although the same page says "It's the furthest North race track in the world, and one of the only which is actually in the arctic circle." hmm...
I am not Norwegian (nor an expert in the matter) so take this with a grain of salt but when I was there I was told the Arctic Circle started in the Mo I Rana region (technically some mountains about 20km or so north of the city) and the racetrack was inside the arctic circle
Google maps of the area -> http://maps.google.c...e...sa=N&tab=wl

And i agree that we should promote it better..i have a dream of a GT race here..it would have been fantastic to see Porshes and Ferraris battle it out up in the mountains.

Although I bet getting the tyres up to temperature may be a problem!

yes - very nice
IIRC they used to have a 24h race there, and it is the only 24h race in the world where you donĀ“t need lights,
as it used to run during midsummer.

Why don't they have a 24 hour race in the winter? Snow tyres, spotlights, could be magic! If a bit chilly....

If you trust Google Earth, it shows the track as being at 66 degrees 25 minutes North. The Arctic Circle is apparently at 66 degrees 33 minutes North, so the track isn't quite on it, but pretty damn close!

We have tried that..as a track day.Lotsa fun,but theres big snowbanks that will let the corners be blind..usually theres between 6-7 feet with snow there in a normal winter...those winters that arent normal..8-10..

Im sure I read somewhere that this is the track they based Forza 3's 'Camino Viejo' on.
Though they put it in spain.
Looks lovley! Sweet pair of 355's as well.
It's possible. I can see the simlarities. But Camino Viejo would be far too dangerous in real life.

Nineteen miles? I vote we give it to them. On my globe the Arctic Circle is at least 25 miles wide. :tongue-firmly-in-cheek:Are you sure it's within the Arctic Circle?
