Every so often (perhaps one in every twenty topic views), a pop-up advert appears for "safecount.net", right in the middle of the screen. Only a minor problem due to its infrequency, but I think it needs bringing up here in case anyone else is also experiencing it.

Yeah I've had it a couple of times. much less than 1 in 20 though. That said the nature of the pop up made me thought it was viral thing...

If you used something like AdBlock Plus you'd never see it. However, if you just want to block Safecount you can install an opt-out cookie from their website: http://www.safecount...on_optinout.php

Me too. I think perhaps it's because there's a fault in the banner ad on all pages.
Here at website feedback it's a banner whereas on TNF it's a pop up and there's no ad in the banner.

Pop-up ads should not appear anywhere on the site, at any time - we consider them obtrusive and not effective as marketing tools.

If at any time you see one appear, please make a screengrab, convert it to a jpeg or PDF file and PM me so I can investigate further.

Yeah.

Like I said, when I saw them, they didn't appear 'normal' so to speak, which is why I thought it was possibly a viral thing on my pc. Haven't had it for a good while now though...
