After so many years I probably should have become used to that kind of "logic", but somehow... :drunk:

It has spread like a disease, the last 5 or 6 months, especially in this thread. Not sure either what tattoo and vacation pics do in a thread about Lewis Hamilton the driver. :)

yep,Red Bull don't want Hamilton because they already said in the media that they weren't interested.. :drunk: :drunk:

Yup, repeatedly and explicitly. They think Lewis is very good but like Vettel even more.

Anyway, I thought we established that this is just another addition to the tabloid invention of stories around Hamilton to sell magazines, as was the 100million pound a year contract the guardian claimed Lewis would get, despite acknowledging there havent been any talks yet. Exactly the same as last year. And for some Red Bull can state they rate Button higher and think hes a bigger threat, that doesnt mean hes not on his way to Red Bull. :drunk: Also, weve split that discussion from this thread. Lets continue debating it there. :)

Edit: maybe one of the mods can move that quoted post of me to that other thread so we get no more reactions here?

Only Five options:

- Mercedes, if Schumacher leaves.
- Mclaren.
- Force India
- Rally
- Retire

so two options then

Why would he go to Force India
Why would he go rallying
Why would he retire

In the world of F1 no one says what they mean and no one means what they say

Officially Mclaren, Red Bull and Ferrari all have a seat going, and I wouldn't be surprised if Lewis drove for any of them, or for someone else, or even went outside F1 completely

Yes, and combined with the fact they had the chance to sign him, but didnt, its also very silly to think them publicly saying - amongst other significant statements - we dont want Hamilton, isnt the truth. But hey, if you do, be my guest. :stoned:

Ferrari denied signing Alonso, they repeatedly stated that they were happy with their current driver line up...again,it's silly to think that they'd discuss negotiations in the media,if you know anything about how the business side of f1 is,you'd know that things like contractual situations are all hush hush...you seem so adamant about wanting to convince everyone that Red Bull don't want Lewis...seems to me like you are scared of something. :drunk:....and when did they have a chance to sign him? when Lewis had a contract? quick question...how old r you?

That and Kimi to Ferrari was an impossible combination back in 2006. Thing is, fact that Lewis didn't take up McLaren offer yet speaks much more than what teams are saying.

So you can assure us one is far worse than the other, but you can't judge the less worse one cause you haven't seen it in full? After so many years I probably should have become used to that kind of "logic", but somehow... :drunk:

Anyway, what velgajski1 said. Please.

He has no weak circuits

Some of the circuits towards the end of the list haven't been happy hunting grounds. Monza in particular has not been kind:
07: 2nd to Alonso's first.
08: Recovery drive to 7th after the Q screwup.
09: Last lap crash from third.
10: First lap crash, the turning point when the season went wrong. Button 2nd.
11: 4th to Button's 2nd.

He's never been classified ahead of his team-mate in five attempts.

I agree. But he's had a lot of things going wrong there. 2008 and 2009 were great performances vs. teammate.

If he has one weak track, I think that'd be Monza. But he did have some good showing there in the past (2007 thru 2009). 2010 and 2011 were not very memorable.

From where did you get the impression that I judge Lewis' point scoring ability on this year alone? Seems you conveniently forgot that this is not Lewis' first year in F1.

No you obviously just judge it on last year

Interesting thing for Hamilton's stats is that he has finished on the podium only once in the same event year after winning the race. Happened in China this year as he was 3rd.

It increasingly appears that way this season, Lewis is giving them virtually nothing to criticise so they are focusing on the small and irrelevant things...

I think that's just a case of Hamilton being a far better driver than Kovalainen than any particular strength at the circuit.

On another note, does anyone find it hilarious that for the past year or so, Lewis and Alonso can't seem to get through an interview without calling the other the best driver in the world? Have they gone from rivals to bromance?

indeed... there's alot of respect

it makes me think that if they ever got in same car again....while they will be fiercely competitive and would love to beat each other, there won't be huge fireworks or acrimony out of the car...whoever gets beaten will know he's been beaten by the best.

Alonso's samurai sword tattoo is far worse I can assure you. Has anyone actually seen Hamilton's tattoo in full or just from these pics? I can't comment if its horrible or not because these pics show nothing really.

You must have something against the Japanese?! Or maybe just swords in general. Anyway I will await your full review of the tattoo's once you actually get to see them both. ;)

Ps. Based on the third picture of LH/NS I think Lewis might be also discussing going to Mercedes. He is sporting a bit of a 'spare tire' meaning alot of time spent with Haug over jelly donuts!

I do seem to remember Watkins74 enquiring about his tatoo a few pages back. I suppose it's more bling for his celebrity lifestyle though. Heaven forbid another driver dare sport a tatoo. :\

And to answer your question - what does Hamilton's tatoo have to do with racing? Nothing.

Sorry, it was your response to jrg19, my bad.

I will say there is nothing wrong with admiring a decent bit of artwork in the form of a tatoo though, irrespective of who's wearing it!

Eff all to do with F1 or racing though, unless Hamilton decides to tatoo his personal sponsors over his body to screw McLaren over in contract negotiations. :D

I have nothing against the Japanese (dated one once) or swords. The one on Fred's back is huge and covers the back of his neck right up to his hair line. I dare say if it was purely on his back and not visibly with everything he'll ever wear, then I may like it (on him). Seriously though its his choice and it doesn't affect my admiration of him.

I can't find the pic I saw previously and bizarrely Google has very little??!!

You mean the natural crease in the skin on his belly that every human has (even incredibly slim ones like myself) when they bend forward? I can assure you I have a very flat stomach and a six pack i'm fairly proud of and my stomach look slike that when I bend over. Theres not an ounce of fat on Lewis in that pic.

That's cool. I am guilty of looking at this from my eyes and not thinking of what may interest others. I really don't care about drivers tat's, furniture, whatever, etc. away from racing. I actually think that we may disrespect the drivers we follow by posting some of these pictures of their personal lives. The guy is trying to get some private time with his girlfriend, don't these drivers share enough of themselves?

I realize that some of these things do interest other fans and I apologize if I was harsh. I fall on the sword once again. That's like my third time in 2 years. ;)

I think both of them look back at that season and see how hard they had to work to try and beat the other. Both are smart enough to know that not many others on the grid would be so difficult to beat.

All the fastest men seem to have them although Seb may not. Button certainly has a tattoo. Who cares though really? They have the money to do what they want and its not our place to say otherwise really.
