Ferrari Coca Cola?

Bernie has been quoted as saying Coke wants to step in and sponsor a big team, and what´s bigger than Ferrari?
One thing is certain: they wouldn´t have to change colors...;)

IF they do get McD's though,I think they should put the "M" on Top side of the SidePods so it is Viewable from an overhead shot,a la the Yellow Thunderbolt livery on the Ganassi ChampCars.
You can call it the Mickey Shoemaker Special.

Coca Cola as main sponsor would be great but please Ferrari dump the yellow M.

Indeed this ugly yellow M has nothing to do here. Yuck. a Coca-Cola livery with a bit darker red could be awesome.

Is this just predjudice against McDonald's? (We don't want "burgers" on an F1 car but we are happy with "coffin nails")
If so, can I say that I'd rather see both McDonald's and CocaCola on a Ferrari than Marlboro!
I can't believe it is the yellow of the logo, the Shell logo is Yellow and no-one has objected to that.
I think it would be excellent to get such sponsorship from companies with world-wide recognition.

Oh those "Golden Arches" look just great. I can just imagine Ronald McDonald doing promos draped over the nose , red wig and all . Nah , give me the cancer sticks.

Frank Williams was smart to land Compac, now hopefully Ferrari gets Coke, and McLaren gets left out in the cold (we know that won't happen, but I can dream, can't I?

Once a Ferrari fan, always a Ferrari fan. I hate the arches though and I don't see the fit with Ferrari. Coca Cola makes more sense for marketing purposes, but a fast food with the most prestigiuos brand of luxury cars????
In any case, if Ferrari had to leave, i would be cheering for eddie Jordan, never for Dennis. He should get McDondal's, he would then be known in the pits as Ron McDennis

Come on, don't be so hard on the "M". I can see it already... Scuderia Ferrari Coca Cola McDonalds, we put the "fast" in fast food

Seriously, I think that nothing having the "Mc" letters on it belongs on a Ferrari.;)

It may be prejudice, but IMHO McDonald's belongs to NASCAR or whatever. NOT to F1, though.

McLaren toys offered as bonuses
w/Mcdonald's "Happy Meals"
so it not that big of a stretch.

BTW, besides the fact the it's the most incompatible sponsor/manufacturer combo imaginable (Arches = cheap, fat and ugly; Ferarri = Expensive, fast, and gorgeous), the reason that the Arches look so shitty on the car is because the red has shifted so much that it's practically orange.
Try this - it's still pretty orange, but it's the best I can do with 5 minutes worth of Photoshop work, or 4 minutes and 59 seconds more work than it's worth...

Well, F1 chassis shape is quite often refered to the Coke bottle.

McDonalds=Junk food, Ferrari=J... ... hmmmmmm.. I didn't say that.

After all that Marlboro has done for racing, and they get slagged by the likes of you guys...give me a break. Racing wouldn't be what it is now if it wasn't for the tobacco ads.
The hypocrisy...ridiculous. "Coffin Nails" puhahahaha
We need smokers and Tobacco companies, they pay half the friggin taxes the goverment takes in!!!!!!!
I'm sure everybody here on this board drives little 4 cylinder fuel efficient cars and drive under the speed limit as to not to contribute to CO2 emissions eh?
Ok, just venting off a little steam......
Besides, I don't think that Coke or Mcdonalds (which I love) are particularly any better for your health ;)

Marlboro are not, I repeat NOT, leaving. That report from a German mag has been denied by Robert Caplan, Corporate Affairs Director of Philip Morris. " There has been no interview. Ferrari too have denied that Marlboro are leaving.
It all is a figment of someone's imagination, someone who knows someone who has heard from this person that Mr XYZ saw Ms ABC talking to the cleaner who found incriminating scraps of paper in the bin....
On the other hand, the truth is out there somewhere...

Shouldn't McDonald's just sponsor Mclaren. After all they both have MACS
or how about a Macintosh computer?;)
Correct me if I m wong, but isn't Coke one of those having the "addictive" ingredient (caffeine) as well... not that I am against that (I do drink Coke and smoke often myself) but I do think the health (therefore moral) statement is a bit fragile especially in the long tobacco-related F1 history...etc

Face it: Tobacco advertising will be phased out over the next years. 1) Legal reasons 2) Pressure from other sponsors that don’t want to be connected to a “bad will” product. I heard BMW wouldn’t sponsor Williams if they didn’t get rid of the cigarette sponsors.

I think that the Coca-Cola brand works well with Ferrari, and while I don't really like the McD's logo on the Ferrari or any other F1 car, (although the Big Mac and McDennis quips were pretty good

Tobacco is going away in 06 right?
I think that when the Tech companies get back on their feet again, I see Intel and HP etc. re-entering sponsorship programs. What other replacement sponsors do you see in the forthcoming years?
Besides the aforementioned tech co's. Will Insurance companies, and perhaps the manufactures will take a larger role? That is, if the dust settles and they remain aligned with F1 and don't create their own series. As we have seen with PPG and the like, the division of a series creates weaknesses that either because of ideological, economic or egocentric reasons aren't really take into consideration until it's too late.
The demands for dollars in F1 are probably the highest in the sporting world. Without controls for expenditures, where will the fresh resources becoming from?
Thoughts?

Let's have a cleaner Cavallino Rampante, please.
Since it's not going to happen, Coca-Cola is acceptable. Worst than Marlboro, but acceptable.
McDonalds on the Rossa is a bad, bad joke. Simply awful. Just think abot the image of Ferrari and the image of McDonalds. Can we have some respect, please?
