I am proud to have been friends with Dave for a number of years and being a part of his archives now being held at The Henry Ford Museum. The Henry Ford Museum is now making available a portion of his photo archives via Flickr. Below are the links for your enjoyment:

Couldn't agree more. Many thanks for a wonderful archive, and I have only looked so far at JC at Indy and some of the '62 shots...........Check out the tipo 151 and the Chaparral

By chance I have been listing some original Dave Friedman prints on eBay recently and there are still have a number currently running ( click here to view current selection) with some others also listed on my website.

These were all purchased from him direct in the early 1990s when we were doing quite regular trade.They all have his hand writing detailing who/what/where/when on the back.
If you have seen Dave's prints before you will know they are always printed up in a unique and very dramatic way. No one else does it quite the same!

There's a mix of F1, Le Mans, Can Am and Sebring with some more (including Jim Clark at Indy) being listed over the next week.

Back again- this is the best thing I've seen on the forum since I joined!

66 Las Vegas is truly remarkable and I've not looked at much else yet!
I'm stunned by the precision of the exposures, a great photographer.

Agreed. One of the very few motor sport photographers who has such a distinct 'style' that you can look at a shot and be fairly certain it's one of his.

It is indeed terrific to see these images from the Dave Friedman collection posted on Flickr. They will be a great resource for the racing historian or for anybody who just enjoys looking at old race cars. It is my understanding that Dave bought out the Jack Brady photo collection many years ago and possibly others as well so not every image you see from DF was taken by him back in the day. This is not meant to be a slight toward him in anyway as he has been a wonderful asset to the hobby.

Indeed, Dave's archives are very rich in history and perspective. All the images are not posted, though I am told THF is working on getting more and more up on the Flickr pages that are linked. As previously noted, all the photos were not taken by Dave himself. Jack Brady's archive and a few others were included into the larger whole. Regardless, I am grateful they are now being made available to the masses...

For those of you heavy researchers, all of the accompanying paper archives are also back in Dearborn, MI. This, I am doubtful, will ever get digitized. Know it is in the Benson Ford Research Center and is available in person or you can pay to have them research for you.
