Also in the Senna film Senna says about the handling of his car" "where it's supposed to break away, it breaks away even more". Which leads me to think that purposefully breaking traction at the rear on entry is a good way to drive.

Well it's strange but the driving characteristic that was fastest in the beginning of driving sims (Microprose F1GP) was an oversteering set up that broke away the rear to point the car into the corner. I still find in modern sims that this setup works best.

There's also some dangers in this style. While games might not simulate it well, in real life if you slide off from downforce aerodynamics of the F1 car stalls and driver will lose control of it. This is not issue in low speeds though.
