I've never seen another forum with a thread over 1000 posts long. This forum has three! Atlas must have a pretty stable server.

I think slashdot.org has a very large BB archive also... but it's made with pearl.. which sux (slower) comparing this BB which is made with php...

Slashdot doesn't have a full achive though, old pages become static rather than dynamic and certain features are lost, IIRC. The largest prolly belongs to http://www.deja.com which has almost every usenet post since 1995 - over 500,000,000 messages!

As I know many other website owners who use vBulletin, from the vBulletin dev and support forum, I can definitely and unequivocally say that we're a very small Bulletin Board, compared to some of the BBs out there.

As for posts per thread - the largest I've seen in vB environment was well over 10,000 (although most of the posts were very short).

That was before the move to vB. UBB has limitations which are overcome by vB.

yeah "Test" was lost cause the UBB couldn't handle the posts and keeled over.
