I guess the TR was lighter and may have handled better but i always thought that the TZ700/750 was by 1977 the tool to have.

Often wondered why harold chose to buy the TR750 (Ex John Newbold I believe) in preference to updating or replacing the big TZ from the previous season.

From the info I have the TR750 (i think it was an ex works/John Newbold bike) was a stop gap bike until the new RG500 arrived, sadly Mick never got to ride it.

But i'm not sure that the RG would have been eligible for the MCN Superbike series? I thought the class was 501 - 750cc? was the RG maybe going to replace the TR500 shown in the pic?
