It is with some sadness that I am selling my beloved Lancia. I have no picture my personal example but it looks exactly like the one on the left:

Mine was made in 1981, has about 95,000 km on the clock and has just come out of the workshop after being mechanically fixed. It is visible in Monaco.

Price: 9,900 euros (roughly 10,500 USD at the current exchange rate)

Pascal

I would love one of those cars !
Unfortunatly yours is a European example and importing into the USA (legally) would probably cost more than the actual purchase price of the car.

I say you start the bidding where Andy did for his jacket. You may get a fiver for it if there is some feverish bidding!

Pascal,

You have been trying to sell this car for over a year now. Don't you think people are now really getting suspicious?

If I had the parking space / garage for it, I would probably buy it from you for even maybe that price. Too bad

PS:
This advert is IMO one of the Atlas classics. Especially the first desperate parts are really fun.
I don;t mean to make fun of it, you probably need the money, else you wouldn't sell such a nice car, but still, it is an Atlas F1 classic already and probably one of the oldest post still living on this board.

Pascal, when the Euro is worth 14 Canadian cents, I'll buy it.

However, it will be a parts car for my more beautiful (bug-eyed) Lancia Scorpion with its 82 HP "full-race" engine.

I like it - anyone care to guess how much to ship into Canada? Seeing as the car is 20 years old, it may slip under the radar both here and in the US...

Pascal,

Don't sell this beauty. Hang on to it for a few more years. It will be worth more that way. Have you thought about having it restored ?

Jonathan, I had it mechanically restored last year...
But keeping this car costs me money that I currently don't have, so selling it is the only solution. :(

If you drop your price you are admitting the original price was too high. Make the car seem more attractive.. re-emphasisze it's good points... NEVER droip the price.. it just screams "FARRRRK i can't sell thi sheap of crap".... with something like a Lancia or an Alfa you are not going to attract people who are not interested in the Marque so until you find an enthusiest (who will pay the price you ask if they are interested) you are wasting your time dropping the price.

Eg... I have a very "standard" Alfetta with no registration and a buggered engine... bald tyres. But it was meant to be my project car so all i was interested in was the body and it is rust free. I found someone who lives 1500Km away who is buyinbg the car because he is looking at building an Alfetta restoration.... see what i mean.. u have to find someone who WANTS the car.

Pascal,

Maybe you could start a "Monaco Tour of the Stars" and drive people around in the car? At least you could offset some of the costs. :D :D :D

Or you could hire JV in the off season and have him drive people around Monaco in the car? :D

Or drive it into the marina and collect the insurance. ;)

Just some ideas. ;)

How about threatening to ban BB members if no one buys the car? :D :D

I'll start the auction (no reserve)! First bid: US$1.00

;)

I sure wish I could take it off your hands, I don't know anything about Lancia's but this one looks cool! It would definately turn heads in Montreal!!

Good Luck![p][Edited by Andy on 08-08-2000]

Don't know, but the Euro is about 1.10 against the USD.

Pascal is on vacation I hear. Maybe he's off to push the car into the marina? ;)

i've heard that the Lancia is crying in his garage since it's so touched by all our concerns.

my $5 bill is already on its way to ......... Italy, is that the right place? and you don't need to send me a tax receipt, that's ok.

Pascal,

have you thought about posting a new thread of this on the Readers Comment Board or the Nostag Board? Sure, they attract alot more people, the more new people read it, the higher chance of it being sold. And i think the administrator wouldn't mind too much of an advertisement there, you know, it's a really exceptional situation and you have all our support here!!!

good luck, and
p.s. why not try other site's bb? (if you haven't done so already)

Pascal's car is going to be like that Maserati 5000 they found all covered in dust in storage since the 60's. Hey, maybe he can "forget" about it in some storage facility. Then in 30 years, he can "find" it and sell it for a profit! :D

Raffle it off, auction it off, or trade it in on a scooter.
