Right, GP is booked, all 3 days of action as GA.
The thing is, we have no form of public transport. Shouldn't matter where we're coming from but FYI it's London. What in your guys (and gals) opinion is the best way to get the the circuit on an F1 race weekend with nothing more than money and feet?

Silverstone via Public Transport

Stagecoach run a bus service from Northampton train station so that might be your best bet. From what I can remember it costs something ridiculous like £12 each way though so if there's a few of you it might work out cheaper to take a taxi from Northampton station.

Horror! When I made my first trip in1960(the day after I finished school for the last time)total cost was £1.10(6s admission,14s coach trip from Holloway-1s programme-think mum packed sandwiches & thermos of coffee. If you are going all 3 days might be better to invest in a tent?

You're thinking of coming from London to Silverstone for each of the three days? I wouldn't want to wish that on my worse enemy if that's the case!
Either pitch up with a tent, or, try and find a B&B that isn't sold out and which has a regular bus service to and from the circuit. Northampton, Milton Keynes and the like would probably be your best bet.

Oh sorry my bad, nah we're camping. Just need to figure out how to get there and home.
I'll look into the coach from Northampton. In the grand scheme of things the price isn't much!

London Victoria to Northampton via National Express sounds like your best bet. Shouldn't cost more than £15. Then Northampton to Silverstone should be a cinch.

What days are you coming and going? If it's Thursday to Monday, train it to Northampton and get a taxi from there.

Yep. Though I'm thinking Milton Keynes as it's direct from East Croydon. Easier than messing around in central London.
Is cab sharing common? There's only two of us so £30 each is a little pricey. Would be nice to pair up with someone else.
