The information in the left hand column is, of course, sadly out of date. For the reason it has not been updated, see above.

I have posted pictures in the past with no trouble at all, today for whatever reason I can not attach a photo to a post no matter what I try to do?
I have tried using both Forum links that Image Shack provides but all that happens when I attach them through the Image function of TNF is a small square box with a cross in it, so far today I have wasted 3 hours, is there another way through another means that I can attach photo, yes Ray I have followed your directions but still end up with the little box.
Help would be very welcome at the moment I have no confidence in Image Shack at all!

You may have run up against your Image Shack space limit, you could try deleting older stuff or if you fancy something that seems to work with out any limit try registering with http://postimage.org/.
I'm not a heavy user of these services and this one has lasted for a couple of years without much hassle in much the same way as image shack with the benefit of creating folders if you need them.

If he's getting a little red cross, then that indicates he's using IE - which does seem to be the problematic browser at present. FWIW I have no problem posting pictures with Firefox.

Us technophobes have more grief when this sort of thing happens.I have posted pictures in the past with no trouble at all, today for whatever reason I can not attach a photo to a post no matter what I try to do?

I have learnt NEVER modify standard setting on your PC. It is up to the sites to work with what the manufacturers [Microsoft, Apple etc] supply. In the past I have done that and had all sorts of grief to do something else normal. It seems websites go out of their way to stuff things up.Reinvent the wheel! And actually that includes Hotmail and G Mail for me currently.

This sounds like the same problem as we've been talking about in the New Forum is Here thread.
There's a problem with posting images in IE at the moment which doesn't happen with other browsers, but some of us don't want to install another browser just to use this forum.
Why is it that most computer upgrades/improvements make things worse?

A software glitch that seems to fool most of us is....that you attach an image and press the post button, but....your post comes up with no image...so, peeps think the attaching has not worked.
I have learned to just trust the process (yeah, right) and back track out or even go right back to pressing "view new content" to confirm your posted image has been successfully attached....
I think mating elephants might be a little easier

Just give me a ladder, that's how bad I feel about ImageShack or is it Autosport

Just tried again now when I place the suggested ImageShack address I now receive this warning
An error occurredYou are not allowed to use that image extension on this community.

I think we are supposed to report these things on the "New AUTOSPORT forums" thread on the Website Feedback board. But judging from some of the comments on there you do wonder if anyone who is able to do anything about it reads the thread.

I always find computer geeks want to push you onto Firefox. Personally I find it slower and I hate the font. Though it is a valid alternative. But,, Explorer is now up to 12 I think. Everytime it changes it cause grief. It is not too hard to go back to the previous one. Though the website operators and carriers need to lift their game too. And Microsoft should tell the industry changes are coming. This sounds like the same problem as we've been talking about in the New Forum is Here thread.

I've stopped using Imageshack, mainly because they have lost many of my photos (though this may be an automatic delete they do to photos that haven't been viewed for ages, I don't know) and I go through threads to which I have contributed from time to time to see what else has disappeared and needs reposting.
I now use Photobucket - it seems to be more reliable but I haven't yet found if/how to post thumbnails - here is a test with a much-missed TNF-er:

I have found that Imageshack just deletes photos at random, it is not related to the number or lack of views. You can have three photos in the one post and sometimes the middle one will go missing.
I had well over 100 photos on Imageshack and now I'm down to 41.

Having just had a series of dramas with Ebay,, again. But it seems all to do with the new explorer. Thougfh a fiend has had different problems with Firefox.I always find computer geeks want to push you onto Firefox. Personally I find it slower and I hate the font. Though it is a valid alternative. But,, Explorer is now up to 12 I think. Everytime it changes it cause grief. It is not too hard to go back to the previous one. Though the website operators and carriers need to lift their game too. This whole deal is a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. And keeping it a secret from each other.
The joke is the 'new improved' is often less user friendly than the previous.
The layout of this site is a point of that.
