Pack racing is back and we've seen the first wreck; Kurt Busch turned by Tony Stewart. They took out both Penske cars too, that'll probably help cool Kurt's temper :D

I don't like NASCAR unless Office Linebacker's doing it.

Speaking of which, who's doing the Indycars now Danica Fan's without an, er, object? We can cross that bridge when we come to it I guess.

Kurt's car looks nifty, I like the clean look. I don't like Johnson's non-livery.

New rule for me this year, I'm not watching ANY pre-race or practice/qual/whatever after Daytona. There's just not enough content to fill the broadcast time and by green flag I'll be worn out.

That's a good resolution. Still, I probably enjoy the twin 125s before the Daytona 500 more than any other NASCAR event all year.

theres a guy in the bud chef ad that looks abit like montoya :)

pretty cool/funny to see a craftsman fit a C panel, then bash it into shape with a hammer :)

That's what DVR is good for. You can fast forward through a couple of hours of pre-race crap, and then another couple of hours of pointless pre- Big One racing.

Well the first official on-track action of the NASCAR season has started. The season starts with an exhibition race Saturday night called the Budweiser Shootout. Think of it like an all-star race at Daytona.

Tune in sched: http://www.nascar.com/races/tune_in/

Jayski (practice speeds (J-Mac 1st, Montoya 2nd!)), eligibility criteria, etc): http://www.jayski.co...012/bud2012.htm

On a lighter note, its good to see Knaus start off the season with bang. Now there's the guy we all know and love!

Short off season. I'm still a bit burned out from last season. Seeing some cars on the track should fix that....

Not the luckiest start to the season for JPM. He drew last.
And Ambrose not much luckier in 21st. Oh well, time to fight through the pack...

btw laughing at Keselowski, had somebody else pick his Bud bottle because he's a Miller Man.

Hope everyone enjoys the race!

Feels good, man.

But I'm going to miss most of the Truck races because I work from 3-12 now.

Couple races today, yeah? I don't want to say racing is back unless I'm sure there's one or two today or not.

Just the Shootout for NASCAR on Saturday night.

I believe there is an ARCA race as well on a lesser note.

GOOD QUESTION...
I will most likely be at the wrong place at the wrong time to get threads started due to my constant travel scenario.
Maybe ask this in the INDYCAR thread and see if we get any nibbles.

Yep, ARCA race is at 4:30 followed by Bud Shootout at 8:10 plus a couple of Sprint Cup practice sessions today.

Is that 8.10 Eastern? I'm at work until 11pm GMT so that would be good to watch later on.

Marcos looking mighty quick. 3/4 way through 1st 500 practice the #9 Ford tops the Leaderboards @193.349mph.

Would be great to see him bag an oval win this year!

So it'll be a four-hour enduro then as Milka ever so slowly picks off every driver!

Milka managed to pick herself out on the 1st try and without tagging anyone as well.

:rotfl:

Thanks, as long as she minimises her track time as much as humanly possible (preferably she'd not race at all, but Citgo are paying for it), she can race as much as she wants!

That's my experience of ARCA so far, but it's alright to have a beer to and mooch around online at the same time....

Milka Duno last, 13 laps down. When you suck in ARCA, you should just quit with any dignity you have left.

Anyway, I'm interested in this race due to Paulie Harraka and Brandon McReynolds. I hope the truck team Harraka is running with this season is competitive.

Just caught the replay. Very cool. OK who's in, or planning on tuning in in about 80 minutes, and from where?
