Up on the mountain, the fog/cloud was pretty bad, so much so that the commentators were talking about a safety car because the flag posts could not see each other (which was true enough).
Highlight was standing at the foot of Mountain Straight, and listening to the Ferrari accelerating out of Hell, all the way to Griffins, with no lift over the hump - later, as it got wetter, they were lifting! Seems like even Ferrai TC has its limits!! A close second was standing at Forrest's Elbow, watching the back of the Ferrari step out as he put the foot down - every lap.
There was a big speed differential between the quicks and the rest, the first cars were lapped around lap 4 or 5, and in the poor visibility up top there were some very near misses

I must go back next year, but please, no rain ...

Hey GreenM we were there with the sports sedans up from VIC, watched the first hour then drove home in the rain to Melbourne.I must go back next year, but please, no rain ...
It would have been a tuff race in those conditions.

There's a rumour that the race might be twice as long next year and may even cross over two years ;)

Bathurst is a car breaaker as it proved. It was fantastic to see these world class cars battling it out in varied conditions. For some teams "All that money but so little results"
Please make it a 24 hour race and like Le Mans have a "Historique" race before it

... and the rain doesn't stop them

no words necessary ...

the Lambo hit the wall on the pit exit

... losing a wheel, which tried to enter the pits from the wrong direction!

speed differentials became a bigger problem in the poor visibility, but I think the BMW knows someone wants to get past ...

Audi back-to-back wins this year and last year - a good effort, particularly in the conditions
- first two hours were dry, then it was wet for the remaining ten, though it cleared up after the finish so I could pack up my tent

I was there as a Marshall, it was fantastic. To hear the deep gutteral roar of the Audi the VROOM of the Mercedes was orgasmic! watching the slower cars getting out of the way but continuing their own race was what endurance racing is all about. I have marshalled for the Spa 24 Race and I can only hope the this race morphs to a 24 hour race which includes a division for V8 supercars which will be faster than the current front runners but will need more stops with their 120 litre fuel tanks and brake packages
