Just to give you an idea on the speeds of this new car compared to the previous Dallara..
Dario Franchitti has the indycar track record at Infineon with a lap time of 1:16.47. Last year's pole speed in qualifying was a 1:18.8 set by Will Power on the alternate red tires. We could see some low 16's come race time.

First question is, were they running the same track configuration as when the 1:18.8 was set?
I don't know but the new Dallara has been widely quoted to be faster than the old car on road courses (and not so much on the ovals). The old Dallara, which was designed back when all the road courses in America cowered before Cristiano da Matta's Lola.

Presumably. I watched the onboard shots of Rubens testing and he was on the normal Indy Circuit they always use.First question is, were they running the same track configuration as when the 1:18.8 was set?

Well, one thing is pretty clear from those results.
Viso > Barrichello > Kanaan.
By that logic, Kobayashi should be a favourite for the WDC in the Sauber this year...
who knows what programme each of them are really doing apart from KV themselves?

Did you get the < and the > confused again?

Viso > Barrichello > Kanaan.
Seeing as Viso is incapable of finising a race his speed doesn't really matter
