Donington Park.

It is simply the best. While there are other circuits with more outragousness (the jump at Cadwell Park for example). There are more conservative circuits (anyone based on an airstrip for example), and Donny puts them all together. The run from T1 though Craner Curves up the hill into 4. The strangely odd section starting at the chicane, goes to the nearly off-camper Melbourne hairpin, the into the final corner actually works for the circuit.

Brands is good. A classic example. Oulton Park, Goodwood also fine examples of what British Circuits are. But none can hold a candle to Donington Park.

I voted Cadwell Park because IMHO it's probably the most exiting track in the world for slower cars..

As I type this I feel bad for giving Sonny a hard time because he included a club track in his poll, but the UK club track are definitely a few steps above anything Canada has to offer.

If Nordschleife is a gallon of good coffee, then Cadwell is a most excellent expresso!

Silverstone.

There may be better tracks, but IMO, the airfield represents the essence of motor racing. Just a bunch of old runways strung together, and a bunch of nuts trying to get around them the fastest :)

So many great tracks with so much character to choose from. I chose Knockhill, which packs a whole lot of fun within such a short distance, but on a different day I could have just as easily chosen Oulton Park, Thruxton, Brands, Donington, Cadwell Park or Snetterton.

There certainly are better tracks!

The problem with Silverstone is that the place is so vast that as a spectator, you never feel involved. It always feels empty when there's not a capacity crowd. It's a bit 'meh' really.

Give me the likes of Donington Park, Oulton Park or Brands Hatch. Proper race circuits to watch the action and places that offer an amphitheatre to watching motor racing.

I voted Other, because the Snaefell Mountain Course on the Isle of Man trumps the whole lot. 37.73 miles of pure epicness. It makes the Nordschleife look tame.

To drive = Oulten park.
To spectate = Goodwood (revival).
For an GP = Silverstone.

Cadwell Park, amazing elevation changes and I loved driving round it.

Difficult choice so I limited it to the one's I've actually been to. Cadwell really is easily the best of those, though Donington gets an honourable mention.

I really would like to visit Oulton Park and Brands Hatch though. I have mixed feelings about Silverstone. It is now a true 21st Century Grand Prix facility, and the track is great for F1, but I can't help feeling something has been lost just from the 1994 layout I remember from when I first started watching the sport (and playing GP2), to say nothing of earlier layouts.

Spent a lot of weekends at Oulton Park as a child, mostly playing on the big sand hill but more often than not at Knickerbrook. Back in the day we'd raid the open paddock for free stickers and posters, and i'd collect the time sheets from outside race control.

Yeah, you only have to look at the number of fatalities

I voted Donington, but it was a tough decision. So many great tracks here. I equally love Donington, Brands Hatch, Knockhill and Oulton Park. Silverstone is probably my least favourite... so featureless compared to the others.

Thruxton's worth recommending too -- sadly there aren't many circuits like it in the world anymore, and as an "airfield" circuit it's kept to its high-speed nature much better than, say, Silverstone or Snetterton. And it looks wonderful on a sunny day. And my granddad used to live on a farm a couple of fields over. And unlike most of the other circuits on this list -- Croft is another exception -- its future doesn't seem particularly secure.

Using the "lol" smiley when talking about fatalities is probably not the wisest decision.

Crikey! I'm the only one who has voted for Snetterton! Nice food, nice people, good views from all around the circuit, camping on the inside of the circuit. Mind you the disadvantages are: watching your stuff literally float down the paddock during a rainstorm, spending ages sweeping water out of the garages (great fun if you happen to be lying underneath a car at the time) and, from an accredited photographer point-of-view, having a very long walk to parts of the circuit during a race meeting where the "old" circuit is in use but can't take a short cut across the new circuit.

Silverstone has its good points (honest) but finding decent viewing areas (if you're a spectator) is a pain. The outside of Becketts these days (if you're in the grandstand) has the best view of all as you can see a lot of the old and new circuit. The inside of Becketts can be good too if you don't mind turning around to see what's going on behind you. Wish those grandstands were open at every race meeting.

I like Oulton Park too (now I've found my way around it). Lots of trees and sweeping elevations. Last time I went there (for the BTCC last year) it absolutely piddled with rain all day.

I haven't yet been to Knockhill, Cadwell Park, Croft, Lydden Hill or Mondello Park but I intend to get to them at some point.

Yup. Knockhill is just hilarious (and I've driven it in a Formula Renault...in the wet).

I voted Silverstone, but I miss the old Abbey chicane - used to get some great action there at non F1 weekends.

Special mention to Oulton Park as well.

Tempted to vote for Brands as it's the only one I've driven on, but the vote as a spectator has to go to Goodwood. There's nowhere else I've been that gets you half as close to the action with an un-impeded view.

Depends on the vehicle being raced and if you are involved in the action or not! Would love to drive brands, oulton or cadwell on a track day but to watch f1 our fast gt cars silv or donington would suit best. Many other uk tracks have great bits but these 5 are best overall. I picked oulton though, it's got a brilliant rhythm to it.

I've raced at Silverstone, Cadwell, Oulton Park, Donington and Brands Hatch so far and Brands is my absolute favourite. What a track ! (even now with all the changes since the 60's).

I guess you're right. Don't really know Cadwell but voted for Brands just for how it looks in the autumn sunshine - even without a car in sight!

I want to say Goodwood as its my local, but i will choose Thruxton. A great fast, flowing, short circuit. Cadwell Park, Donington Park, Brands Hatch, Snetterton (before its facelift), Outlon Park and Croft are all great as well. Knockhill is fantastic for its sheer lunacy as well.

The Isle of Man Mountain circuit is my favourite, as you can see from the avatar pic thingy, but as far as permanent courses go I would say Cadwell or Oulton Park.

Got to be Donington for me. Mallory's only five minutes away for me, and usually end up going to Silverstone more times during the season, but there's just something that bit extra special about viewing from the bottom of the Old Hairpin.
