Haven't dug deep into the way a forum works but have some (maybe faulty) memories that mile long threads produce the most of the load. Also, after a quick look back, there are a lot of threads with less than 10 posts.

If you're not going to fix the server at least make it members only.

It takes what, 20 seconds to write a post saying "Yes we are aware of the problems and we'll be looking at it" or "We're aware of the problems but unfortunately other projects are taking a precedent at the moment, it's something we will come back to".

Remember when the people who ran Atlas/Autosport used to care enough to actually reply in threads like this? I think unfortunately that is the biggest difference these days, a lack of giving a monkeys.

I'll second that

Lack of response from Autosport on the 'website feedback' forum is sadly lacking.

Don't know about others, but I've been facing slow response from forums.autosport.com. Even after the race weekend

I'm too naive to have seen that coming. With hindsight though, I'd bet you're absolutely right.I expect a paid version to the launched soon.

This can not be server load, so it is something else and what ever something else is, it has been going on for a long time. I am puzzled that the powers in charge do not take serious, or at least more serious than they appear to take it, the basic structure have worked well for several years, suddenly having an issue is not unheard of, but not doing anything about is surely a very strange tack. If it was my companies website behaving like this, we would all be awoken from our slumber around the world and told to fix it now.

I seem to be doing a lot of apologising at the moment - with regards to the servers, we have been experiencing record amounts of traffic in the last month (probably owing to the rather exciting start to the F1 season). We are aware of the situation, and the need to upgrade the whole forum system (from functionality through to hosting etc).
We only have a small dev team but it is on the roadmap of jobs to fix; though I can't give you a solid ETA for the fix being implemented at this time.
Please bear with us, I know it's frustrating at times and I thank you all for your patience and support, we will get it sorted as soon as we can.
Best wishes
Jim
