I believe Ann Moore of Olympic showjumping fame once competed in some single seater racing. Are any of you extremely knowledgeable posters out there able to provide me with any more details of this? Which team and formula was this with? How successful was she and are there any photos of her at the wheel?
Thanks in advance.

I seem to remember some photos of her in a single seater. She was an attractive lass. I think she once said her boobs got in the way a bit! Can't remember how successful she was but many folk who were good on horses seem to have good car control. I would suspect that either the horses or marriage were priorities.

Ann was one of John Webb's many promotional activities.John Webb's FF2000 Elden and she was very slow...

I note the caption to the photo refers to Ann being in Davina's car, another of John's many attempts to use women drivers to attract attention.

Just realised that Alan described the Elden as 'ex Divina Galica'. It wasn't. It was a new car for the 1976 season. Divina drove the car starting at Oulton May 15 ["the Rubettes Trophy"] after Moore had given up her place in John Webb's "charm school". Syd Fox got the drive when Divina had clashing commitments with the Surtees TS16.
Moore's statement to the press read: "I have decided to end my motor racing activities as I had originally planned to enjoy a season's racing but had not anticipated that the sport would demand so much of my time. Therefore, due to a busy schedule with my other commitments, I reluctantly will only be able to take part in occasional celebrity races." [Autosport 20 May 1976, p. 57]
