Pathetic fanboy post

Alonso >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kimi

Santander is just an excuse used by poor Kimi fans because the finn was slower than even Massa.

Plus, I remember many Qs in which Coulthard was up there, if not faster, than Kimi.

In summary, Kimi Raikkonen: the most overated driver ever :D

Can you name a driver in F1 who has beaten more teammates than Kimi? My intention wasn't to declare Kimi>>>>>>>>>>>Alonso. It was simply a straight-forward response on the topic of the thread with a touch of hyperbole as is par for the course in the sort of informal context.

Now let's hear your list of drivers who have beaten more teammates than Kimi.

Over his time at various teams in F1, Fangio beat Farina, Fagioli, Sanesi, Bonetto, Marimon, Gonzalez, Kling, Hermann, Simon, Lang, Taruffi, Moss, Musso, Collins, Castellotti, de Portago, Behra, Menditeguy, Schell and Godia Sales.

Are you kidding?

So far Kimi beat what? Three or four teammates (depends whether you count season by season or the average of the time together in the team)?

There are plenty of drivers, who have beaten more teammates.

There'll be some frantic Googling going on, followed by the disappointment of finding only black & white photographs to look at.

Kimi's beaten 6 teammates and still has many years ahead of him in F1. As far as I know, he has beaten more teammates than any other current driver. I'd love to be corrected if I'm wrong.

vs.

Nobody in history....

And so begins the backpedalling...

And btw. Mark Webber has beaten 7 teammates so far, to answer your new question.

When I was young I used to watch (and rewatch) my Dad's old VHS season review tapes. In the late 80s seasons I honestly thought Lotus was a one-car team, because Senna's black Lotus was always at the front and his teammate was nowhere to be found!

I've just wiki-ed it and indeed:
1986: Senna 55 points, Johnny Dumfries 3 points.
1987: Senna 57 points, Satoru Nakajima 7 points.

That's a whopping 112 - 10 points over 2 season. :smoking:

Webber hasn't beaten anything like 7 teammates. Unless you're talking something trivial like that Webber came out ahead in individual race etc. Beating a teammate naturally entails either winning more WDCs or if hasn't won WDCs then at least beating them in season standing and points.

He beat Yoong, Pizzonia, Wilson, Klien, Rosberg, Coulthard on points. The 7th would be Davidson (neither scored a point, but MW would be technically ahead).

But that´s quite unimportant. My answer was mainly related to your ridiculous claim, that nobody in the history of the sport beat more teammates than Kimi.

The number of team-mates beaten is irrelevant really. Quality over quantity ;) .

That´s true of course. But at least someone should get the actual facts, right - no matter what their deeper meaning might be.

I came across him beating Heidfeld as well, but then looked further into it and noticed he was out injured for the last seven races of 2005, I didn't watch that season so I have no idea if Mark was already beating him because that would be 8 team mates in total he beat.

Nope he had a few points less than NH up until that point (even though that didn´t really represent the hierarchy between the two).

As far as 'nobody in history' goes, I'll add: Alain Prost beat John Watson, René Arnoux, Eddie Cheever, Niki Lauda, Keke Rosberg, Stefan Johansson, Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Jean Alesi, Damon Hill. That's five world champions plus three who could have won a championship plus two other very good drivers.

Granted, the two year partnerships with Lauda and Senna were both 1 Prost to 1 Lauda/Senna, but in each case Prost outscored the other over their time together.

Prost is a very good example of someone who dealt with competitive team-mates. I would say two who could have won a world championship (having been in contention at the final race) and three other very good drivers (none of whom came remotely close to a WDC in fairness).

It seems easily forgotten these days but Fisichella has beaten 8 drivers in the standings. Lamy, R Schumacher, Wurz, Button, Sato, Firman, Massa and Sutil.
