Any chance he'd buy into Sauber?
2 years racing, then team owner with Monika running the team day-to-day, and giving Peter a retirement option?

Too fanciful?

I don't buy into the idea that MS will ever be interested in a 'Management' role. He is and will always be a racer. I am perfectly OK with being proved wrong though !! :)

Personally I think MS would rather go back to bike racing than sit at a desk. I am very very happy that Schumi is not at Merc anymore and I say this as a huge fan. That team ain't right. Do I think he'll retire? I hope not ! I'd rather see him racing even if it is Sauber :)

EDIT: Also, looks like its time to change my avatar :)

And that was it...

I don't think F1 is ever going to be the same for me. I just loved it that I had a driver on the grid who i really supported with everything I got. More then a few times I even got emotional because of a goddamn sporting event. When he lost his podium last year in Canada for example. Manly tears were shed that day.

Nope, back to the days where I really did not care who won the race. Most races I just started doing something els half way trough.

I also hope that Schumacher hasn't announced anything because he'll be racing elsewhere next year.

What do you reckon it means if nothing is confirmed/hinted at today, considering that Hamilton's move has become official?

Nope, I think its over :(

To be fair I still think you cant fault Mercedes here. They havent announced anything about Hamilton at all, it was Mclaren that 'confirmed' Perez is joining Mclaren.

From Mercedes point of view, they havent announced anything at all, even though the deal is signed for sure. They are still waiting for Schumacher to announce his retirement before announcing Hamilton joining them.

On the first view you can't fault Mercedes here but it stinks to hell in any other aspect.

- Why wait till october to announce Michael's decision if everything was done before?
- Right after the media war against Schumacher after his bad singapore
- Now you have the feeling Michael was sacked because of his performance.

It looks like they forced him to quit. I am happy he is not staying with Mercedes. This team deserves Hamilton and they will get the real one after three retirements in the first three races next year..;)

Who is JA ?? It's too difficult to write the entire name ? No disrespect but i don't understand the hype with " MSC ", LH ", "JA", "FA" etc...

Yes - his surname is too hard to write ;)

Jaime Alguersuari for those that didn't realise

It is quite strange that no announcement has been made by Mercedes or Michael.

EDIT: Its official now. Hamilton with Merc.

Something is going on there. Clearly MS is not ready to retire? He is looking for other options.
If he was retiring he should announce it by now. Or as he promise announce will come in October. So, Merc will wait for that too?

In Michaels's press release, he doesn't say he is retiring!

“I have had three nice years with the team which unfortunately did not go as well as we all would have wanted on the sporting side. I wish Lewis well and for the team to achieve the success we worked so hard for in the build-up. I would like to thank the team for their trust and all the guys for their unconditional commitment. I will now concentrate on the next races.”

Well i think he is out of any role at Merc. This ended badly.

Questions is if he is out of F1 as well.

Merc have already announced Hamilton. I think Schumi is probably looking at his options before making a decision, but definitely if he ends up retiring for the second it would be a bit sad if for the second time the general "feeling" will be that he was retired instead of him chosing to retire.

Well then, that sounds to me like he is looking for another seat.

This is a big letdown from Mercedes. :(
