I've found newspaper articles about the 1963 Tour d’Europe rally, a Fiat 2300S driven by Rudi Golderer/Peter Falk (later team manager from Porsche) which was involved in a tragic accident in Turkey.
Rudi Golderer was imprisoned in Turkey because of this accident, after some month he was released with the help of the German embassy.
AFAIK he returned to racing in the following years.
What did happen in Turkey?
