I paid 39Euro and I played it 216 hours since January, as comparison, Skyrim I played 174 hours... for me it was very well worth the prize since it gave me so many fun hours. I generally play racing games alot with music, it is very relaxxing for me and I dream away... I cant play with brake assists off really good yet... but I'm having fun and that is the important part...
Played it online recently too kind of sucks that they put the people with no brake assists and those with them enabled in the same match, kind of sucks that people keep ramming each other.... buuut... still had some fun... even tho I exactly crashed the one time I actually won a race
Nice you like it. (: I prefer F1 2010, okay F1 2011 was too simple but really feel F1 2012 is too much understeer, even with settings changed. So for me it is worth like 10 EUR

It´s not about any settings. It´s about slowing down, and then turn gradually. Your front won´t slide.
F1 2011 allowed to turn and brake too much at the same time, and also to turn the wheel too violently, yet the front would stick.
F1 2012 is not perfect but its handling is way better than any previous game of the series.

As someone who's put a lot of time into racing the LMP1s on Forza 4 (granted, about 99.9% of this is on a controller), I couldn't wrap my head around it. There seemed to be no feedback whatsoever--where you can feel each wheel of the car responding individually on Forza just through the vibration patterns in the controller, F1 2012 feels dead, as if the car is hovering just above the road rather than riding on it. You won't know you're spinning or losing grip until you see yourself off the road. It feels 'fake' to me in comparison, but that's just my opinion--racing LMP1s on Forza is far more satisfying for me.New to the F1 2012 game and my gosh it's tough. I did bust out my wheel and struggled to get to grips. Was spoiled with fairly easy driving on GT5, and now, wow, I am a bit lost. Like said, it takes getting used to.

But in terms of Forza 4 vs. F1, still sticking with F1. From just playing with the joystick controller, found Forze to be lacking. Mostly from a realism of the tracks aspect. For me, that is a bigger seller than if the true handling.
I get your bit about the car seeming to hover. I think that is the feeling people mentioned about the supposed understeer. The response is slow as well. You start to slide the rear end around, odds are you are not saving it. Not because it's unsaveable, but because the spins are so slow. And you can't simply restart and get your car spun around as the turning radius is terrible (w/ joystick), and even with traction control off, you cannot get the rear end to break loose.
But while there are a few issues I have with the game, it is fun. Just took a bit to get used to and get fairly quick at.

Turn 10 ought to get some new equipment then, 'cause Forza's version of Road Atlanta is a sterile copy of the real deal.Erm, Just to point out, Forza's tracks are laser-scanned, Codemasters aren't.

To be fair, Iracing harps on about it's laser scanned tracks and some of them are hysterically off. Both are massively superior to codies efforts in this regard, but I don't think the f1 lot get a particularity high budget. At least, you'd think they didnt playing their games.

I agree they're not perfect, but I believe most of the real tracks were scanned for Forza 2, then imported to each new version rather than refined/re-scanned. Maybe the technology has moved on.

They are just going for the mass appeal though. They know that more people who play this game are kids rather than real gamers (who'll sit down and work their way through Forza or GT5). This is a plug in and play game.

I think most people keep the racing line turned on. You really don't need Traction control unless you are driving overly aggressive and stabbing the throttle out of even the slowest corners. I use automatic as the PS3 controller is crap (love the system, but a 15+ year old controller doesn't cut it anymore) and awkward to find comfortable buttons I can use.

I'm used to the force feedback you get from Forza 4, I don't use TC with anything in that game and barely have problems. But in F1 i can't really 'feel' what the car is doing because the game gives you almost no feedback through the controller.
regarding other posts: How anybody plays that game with a keyboard is beyond me.

Early 90's there was awesome Formula 1 game: Microprose Grand Prix. If you had no joystick, only reasonable option was keyboard (and those silly assists I did mention!). I didn't play much Grand Prix 2 but even then there wasn't much steering wheels available.

and I don't have a racing wheel for one simple reason: It's too expensive.... last time I was at Saturn they were about 200€

Monaco I qualified 16th and made a good start in the wet (only inters needed for the whole race) getting up to 9th. I'm going along nicely, setting a good pace not having much trouble from behind me, and keeping up with Perez infront. A few incidents ahead put me up to 7th and I'm looking good for points here with 12 or so laps to go (in a 50% race). I've run out of flashbacks by this point and I get a drive-through for a stupid braking error into the 2nd part of the Swimming Pool where I bump into a backmarker... unfortunately just as this happens another incident elsewhere on track brings out the Safety Car and I've dove into the pits thinking I'm taking my drive-through when actually it's now SC conditions and I take new tyres instead. I've now lost 4 places doing that AND I've still got to take my penalty when the SC comes in... with only 6 laps to go the SC comes in and I dive in to take the drive-through, leaving me 12th but with much fresher tyres. Can't do anything about it though and finish 1 second away from 10th when I had 7th or more in the bag just a few laps before.
Hockenheim made up for this. Didn't qualify so well but wasn't really trying other than getting turn 1 right. Another good start and some bumping and grinding up front and I'm in 7th by the hairpin. I spend the rest of the race aggressively defending (too aggressive for online or real racing

Hungary next and with my new steed I qualify an excellent 7th, making my way up to 4th on the 1st lap and holding that for a few laps until Button gets me in the DRS zone. From a 2 lap run in Q3 my front tyres are starting to struggle a few laps away from my pit target BUT it is starting to rain, so I take one more lap (still short of my target) and come in for inters. Got to give it a go haven't I? It's a good thing I do as literally on my exiting the pits there are cars going off and spinning at every corner... some even stay out a 2nd lap and I take the lead passing Vettel as he spins at the penultimate turn. I've now got a pitstop's lead and am on warmer rubber. Vettel eats into my lead a little but the rain is getting worse and I decide when I understeer off the road in the same penultimate turn that I've got to take wets. Again my timing is near perfect and Vettel stays another lap on the inters before swapping to wets, giving me a bigger lead of around 40 seconds now. He's faster than me in wet and dry conditions so it's just a case of trying to hang on, but as the track dries I don't time my last stop back to slicks so well, and I spend a lap flapping round spinning twice and throwing away my lead, which Vettel takes a few laps later when I'm still getting the slicks up to temp. Button is far enough away in 3rd for me to able to take 2nd in my first race with Toro Rosso but I still get the feeling of 'what if' with my final lap on wets...
And this is what the Codies F1 games do better than almost anyone else... create the atmosphere, emotion and situations of a real Grand Prix.

Forza uses this to great effect, wheras F1 2012 feels totally dead in comparison.

Had the game for about 6 weeks now, and it hasn't left my Xbox drive!
It's my first F1 game since 2006 - I only bought myself an Xbox in January and being at Uni I just didn't have time/money for gaming. I understand a lot of the criticism and yeah, if your a serious gamer and into things such as rFactor and iRacing then obviously this is going to be poor in comparison. There are some bugs (The most annoying one I have found is that if it starts to rain and I use a flashback - once I'm back in the game the track is soaking wet instead of just being slightly damp!) but in general this is a good effort. I am still to master Legend difficulty - I'm in that annoying gap between Professional and Legend at the moment.
Spend most of my time on Career mode - I think this is one area where the game could be made much better with other drivers moving teams/leaving the sport and drivers coming in, and it could be a bit more interactive - I don't like the idea of beating a rival and taking his seat. I took Kimi's seat at Lotus but I'd have rather taken the number one seat and had him as my number 2! .
Taking a break from Career to try and hone my skills and get myself ready to play on legend mode. Found a fun way to do this was by testing the different cars on some of my 'Bogey Tracks' as a bit of an experiment really - to see which cars are the fastest/suit my driving style the best. I realise this is massively flawed but it would take me far too long to find an optimum set-up for each car.
Australia - Dry - Best lap out of 10. Medium downforce, Handling set for slight understeer, 52:48 Brake Bias, Firm suspension, Default camber and gearing.

Red Bull and Mclaren are dynamite around here! The Mclaren gains a tenth a-piece in S1 and S2 but loses 2 tenths to the Red Bull in Sector 2. I expected the Ferrari to be better around here but it struggles in the middle sector under this set-up. The Williams felt really good around here and maybe if I'd tried it a bit later on I could have found a couple of tenths.
Struggled with the Lotus - particularly it's lack of top-end speed lets it down along with understeer in the middle sector. However this was the first car I tested having not driven around Interlagos for quite a while.
HRT was horrific - just wouldn't do anything I wanted it to and I was missing apexes left right and centre. The majority of my laps were nearer to and in the 1:15.s

Hi would anyone know if 'F1 2013 Classic Edition' is coming out (in Australia) on PC? I can buy the normal F1 2013 on PC. But I can only see the 'F1 2013 Classic Edition' for PS3 & PlayStation. If I can't by the Classic Edition' I wouldn't buy it F1 2013 game, because there's a lot more in the Classic Edition'.
does anyone know
