No, Christijan Albers has been in DTM before moving to F1, too ;)

and even Schumacher drove races in the previous DTM series before his F1 career

And Fisichella as well!

Moving to DTM is pretty much the end of an F1 future really, so don't really get this move by Jaime. Only Paul Di resta has driven DTM and then moved to F1. But in his case, he wasn't an F1 driver before, which Jaime was.

I think he should have stayed in single seater cars, perhaps move to Indycar for a season.

It's usually much nicer to have a well paid factory contract with a large car manufacturer with several motorsport programs than trying to secure a multi million budget for one year to waste on an Indycar drive.

Apparently he had an agreement with BMW and should have been presented as DTM driver last thursday, but now they are interested in Glock:

En @RESTADIOMOTOR dicen que BMW se ha echado para atrás a pesar de tener un acuerdo con Jaime Alguersuari

Cuentan en Onda Cero que Alguersuari debió ser presentado por BMW como piloto del DTM el jueves pasado. Al parecer se interesan por Glock.

Jaime is learning fast about the complicated F1 business,

He was just too young and naive IMHO to be opening his mouth way too early about being back in F1 for sure.

Ouch. Starting to feel sorry for this guy! I didn't think he was anything special, but to be dropped by Toro Rosso last minute when he could have been a Lotus driver (which would have turned his career upside down) to then miss out on an F1 ride for this year and to now miss out on your back up plan? That's quite horrible.

Hope he has something else planned for this year otherwise he'll have to stick with his music.

If you're going to post on an English language site, common sense would say to translate it.

IMHO in recent years BMW has convincingly proven that having an agreement with them is worth nothing at all.

And what is my sentence before the tweets if not a translation of those tweets?

Could it be that his sponsorship money has fallen through? After all that that's the way of life in F1 these days - until the sponsorship money is in the bank account the seat isn't yours.

Ouch. The need for drivers bringing money in F1 forces good drivers like Kovalainen, Glock, Alguersuari, Heidfeld etc. out of F1 and other series can cherry pick their selection of F1 talents. There aren't many undeserving drivers in F1, but there is just not much room in a grid with basically only 9 relevant teams and the top drivers having long careers.

OK, had the impression that you knew, as you appealed to my lack of common sense and demanded it not to be a google translation ;)
