Well he's coming back to F1 via Prost. You must be kidding? The world of F1 is vastly different from when he was here.

He's different too... had two broken ankles since he was in F1.

Mark Blundell is an experienced, accomplished all-round driver, and deserves another shot at F1. He has not been away from F1 that long and will have no trouble at all with the current cars. He will be a real asset for Prost as a test driver - after all Williams and McLaren thought he was worth employing....

Look at his record -

which is easily as good as someone like Verstappen, who somehow clings to a place in F1 despite never delivering the goods, or no-hopers like Mazzacane or Marques or the unlamented Diniz or Gene.

Wouldn't it be nice if for once one of the good guys got a break?

I remember that when Mark and Martin were at Ligier together, they were called the "Brundell Brothers". :D

I never saw Blundell as a race winner, but I do think he was/is worthy of a place in F1, unlike some of the current field.

Around here, they were called the Blunder brothers. Why exactly is Mark "one of the good guys"?

I always liked Blundell, i was happy to see him in CART when he left F1 and I think that he will be a major asset to a team as a test driver. The field in F1 is quickly being seeded with young drivers many of them younger than me (im 22) and im sorry but they just dont know jack **** about testing at this point and time. Mark does and therefore he will be more help to the desingers and engineers.

With the high speeds and high technology nowdays, the twitch boys are taking over. But we all know WHO are responsible for making these machines win.

I see a time coming when the 'horse' is more well-known than the 'jockey'.

PS
Ohyah.. back to the topic: Blundell.. now that he is back on the other side of the pond, anychance we can have Damon Hill for a few seasons? He seems like a cool dood.. he'll fit in well with the more laidback CART crowd, good for marketing too.

Damon Hill? Did you see the 1999 season? His illusion of competence really crumbled.

Any chance Blundell had to build on his three wins in 1997 was trashed by the amazing decision of the PacWest team to try competing the next year with old equipment and their own parts. Not what you want to do when you're on the verge of breaking into CART's elite after being on the fringes for years.

John B

And PacWest's fuel strategy gambling probably cost a win or two as well.
