Which drivers would you hire if you were a team boss?

But as this one isn't mentioned, I voted Vettel/Button. In spite of some rather aggressive on-track battles, it still appears to me that they get on well (you're welcome to provide counter-examples) and I think their styles would compliment one another nicely. Evidently they're also both very good at managing the tyres, too.
Vettel/Raikkonen would be my next choice of the ones listed. In addition to being quick drivers, they both seem get along very well.
As for the other top drivers:
Though I rate Alonso highly, I'd rather select Vettel if I had an unlimited budget--he's roughly just as fast but has also proven over his last four years with Webber that he has no problem racing his teammate, wheras I feel Alonso would be considerably happier with a #1/#2 setup. I wouldn't run a team with a #1/#2 setup because I don't feel it's the best way to win both championships, so naturally I'd look for drivers who wouldn't mind competing with their teammate on equal footing.
Of course, that does put Hamilton in the picture, but I'd probably end up canning him after his first Twittergate/'because I'm black' moment. Too many PR considerations unless he'd be kept on a (very short) contractual leash.
Long story short: Vettel/Schumacher is my first choice, Vettel/Button second, Vettel/Raikkonen third, and potentially Vettel/Hamilton if they got along. I think that last has the least chance of working, though. All my opinion, in the end, anyway--I've got no idea what these guys would be like to manage, so I've based my decisions on what I hear about their work ethic and how I perceive them to behave.

Kimi - Lewis
equal terms with a 'no rallying' clause for Kimi & 'no twitter' for Lewis

I was tempted to choose Kimi - Lewis too.
But I think Kimi and Seb would be a better match.
Lewis is great and entertaining but a bit of a risk - you never know what he's going to do next day...
Seb has hot temper too when he doesn't get what he wants, but I think Kimi could cool him down a bit

Kimi & Jenson (why no such option!) would be great together

Love ya brother!
I think that option would've got about 10-15 votes so far though. Alonso/Button got something like that.

As for pairing, definitely Hamilton and Alonso, as long as they stay happy-ish you have no doubt that they are getting the very best out of the car.
EDIT: although Kimi is a good shout

Rather than being threatened by the new kid/desperate to beat the best (alonso certainly was at the time) they have mellowed and grown to respect each others ability.

i hv no idea why hamilton is labeled as fastest driver when he has been driving a winning car all the time?? With such error prone, and inconsistency, i rather opt for Alonso + Kimi or kimi+vettel !!
raikkonen is literally the only "good driver" to not win a title with Newey.
On the other hand Hamilton has been getting screwed over by his RE and TP for the last few years. Plus he is a lot more consistently fast than raikonen.
unsettled by massa?? rather kimi was having a tough year in 2008 when a few of his wins results in unfortunate event!! Canada, France, Belgium~~~
Canada - some wooden eye crash into him from the pitlane
France - exhaust pipe failure
SPa- raining on last lap, wrong tyre, no grip = crash
There were A LOT more races where raikkonen was complete garbage - Australia, Turkey, Monza, Singapore (that was hilariously bad), Hockenheim, Monaco, etc.

Kimi and Alonso, fire and ice.
Yup.
I'd consider Hamilton too, but the Hamilton from today.
I think Alonso wouldn't have a problem with Kimi. If Alonso goes ahead he'll be happy, and if he goes behind it's likely Kimi would not be blocking him much because he would be fast, so Alonso wouldn't feel frutrated. Same the other way around.

How do you expect kimi to win title when his engine fails frequently and granted him 10 grid penalties despite starting on pole??? Its not like the newey designed car at mclaren period was anyhting close to reliable~~!! Remember very well in San Marino 2005, nurburgring 2005, hockeinham etc kimi retired due to mechanical failures while leading on the front.........Norbert Haug said himself, kimi should won 2 titles with them, but poor reliability hampered his chances~~
Im sure the list of rubbish races competed by lewis is far longer~~~ granted he perform bad while causing accidents =P

That would be quite a sight. They would be so far ahead of everyone else, and I imagine them at Monaco, pushing for pole lap after lap.

None the less, given the choice why not sign two drivers who have already proven they are capable to win WDC, ideally multiple times (provided they are still in their prime... probaby pass up on signing an aging Alan Jones or Nigell Mansell in a second or third comeback!!). It is the best way to please the team's board, and be sure that the drivers are not the problem if the team performs very poor.
Therefore my choice would be Alonso/Vettel lineup. (as Ferrari plan for 2014 onwards????)
It's fair to say Alonso is winning first pick, great choice by all posters IMO.

Must win a championship.
Need a special driver as the car won't be the best.
Well if that's the case then, I would probably choose Hamilton and Raikkonen.
Don't think they'll have a problem each other, one is like fire the other is like ice. Both can push the car when it's not the best e.g. both of their seasons in 2009
One has great qualifying speed and good race pace, the other has good qualifying speed plus great race pace.
My first choice was Alonso/Raikkonen, but I think Alonso causes a few problems and won't gel with another top driver.
So I went for Hamilton/Raikkonen.
Although I was very close to choosing Vettel and Raikkonen
