Yeah he'd be pretty good.Oh, and while I'm at it can someone shake Montoya and tell him he'd be winning races in Indycar for Team Target instead of battling for 20th every week?

Can he use that in any form? Because that'd buy him a really good seat for the 500.
Can only be used for an IndyCar ride. And it takes the form of 'winners circle' money. So, he never gets the cheque.....

If you pay a visit to page 1 of this thread, you'll see that in my infinite wisdom I've knocked Edmonton out of the 2012 schedule post. I reckon updating one post at the beginning of the thread is better than spamming the forum with new schedules every time the mayor of Providence farts.

Finally caught up with last Wednesday's Midweek Motorsport: Marshall Pruett was on there explaining the details of Vautier's Indy Lights prize. It's $500,000 if he joins a Leader's Circle team, and $1 million if he joins a team not eligible for that money. Complication is that there's no word yet as to who'll be eligible for Leader's Circle payments next year, or even if the programme will continue. But this year it was the 2011 points table's top 18 entries, with Newman-Haas Racing's vacated slots re-allocated by the series (to the single-entry Ed Carpenter Racing and Dragon teams).
Team Sarah Fisher's decision to hire the 2011 Indy Lights champion -- they were not favoured with Leader's Circle payments -- was probably a shrewd piece of business. God knows how they managed to run the Newgarden entry sponsorless for almost the whole season, but that million dollars probably plugged a big hole in their racing budget.
Oh, and Randy Bernard's going to announce the 2013 series schedule on Speed's Wind Tunnel programme this coming Sunday. Stay tuned, or alternatively wait until someone reports it.

I'm surprised nobody picked up Baguette after he performed so well at Indy in 2011, he raced really well on ovals but I guess it's all about money in the end.
I hope he makes a comeback to Indycar. If only for the bad puns thread

No seriously though, he does deserve a drive.

What are the chances of Guerrieri getting a seat then? Money dependent, I guess?
Yes, which makes it extremely difficult for him to get a ride, specially considering that the rumour in Argentina is that the sponsor he had in Indy Lights this year did not pay what it was supposed to pay or did not pay on time.

Seems a shame that KV only have one car sorted for next year, but I welcome anything that gets Simona a better engine.

I reckon Kalkhoven-rage is the main driver behind the Indycar Series buyout. His team has really suffered in the last year or two. Mind you, it's never been a successful one.

The cost of spares with the new Dallara was definitely one of the reasons quoted for the unhappiness! All becoming clear now.
