It was like an amateur F3 race, I think because he has to have competed in F3 to be able to enter Macau?

He better does do well, it's his third Macau GP after all. All he needs is a more reliable car than last year. He's got some really good momentum going at the moment, i hope he can do well this weekend and really put himself on the radar.

I'm trying to remember a driver whose career has suddenly picked up so much momentum and just kept on going and going! Happy for him in one sense but i would like to have seen Alex Lynn get the win after his pole yesterday.
Me too.
Lynn was very impressive considering it was the first time on this track!
However Da Costa seems a very fast driver I have also a lot of confidence in Carlos Sainz Jr. He is very, very talented.

Was not Magnussen who scored the best time in Abu Dabi young tests... with a McLaren?

I know you're joking, but for the record António did have a scheduled run to go for a proper lap time in Abu Dhabi but was hindered by a KERS problem.
I knew it.
;)
Da Costa for TR 2014? Hopefully he will resist the "crusher team"...

I don't remember changing opinion about a driver by so much in just half a season. If he keeps this momentum he will be in F1 sooner than later and I will be excited to see what he can do driving a F1 car.I'm trying to remember a driver whose career has suddenly picked up so much momentum and just kept on going and going! Macau, a former portuguese colony, didn't chanted..the portuguese anthem! The croud chanted the hymn acapella! How embarrassing...
Haha, sounds a bit like that scene in Casablanca.

If I were running Force India, I would sign him up immediately.
I actually wouldn't. Even if he's the next Senna, not worth the hassle of having to pay Red Bull to relieve him of a contract, or take him on a short term loan only for Red Bull to pick him back again if he does fine in F1.

I think it's the best call, it's clearly a winning combination and it's far better to have some stability now that he's 1 step below the big thing, than being rushed into F1 or risking having to learn everything again in GP2. The pressure will be intense though, it's the title or else the big hype's out of the window.
I'm hoping for some FP sessions with Toro Rosso too, though.

Lots of hype. I will not be surprised if we see him already this year driving a STR.
FP quite probable. Couldn't see Ricciardo or Vergne being bad enough for either of them to be dropped midseason.

Dr. Marko likes to makes sure that his Toro Rosso drivers know their seats aren't safe.

The news being his F1 chances will depend on his results, shock horror.
Not sure if it's just me going all pop psychology but he sounds quite negative in interviews recently. Definitely not happy with the way WSR is going this season and pretty harsh on himself. Ambition to do better is always good but I'm slightly concerned he may not be on the right mindset at the moment. That being said, in this non-news article I did like that little quip of lobbying for himself: "It would be good to see a junior driver step into Red Bull, that's what the junior team is all about."

We can see more easily where he stands in relation to Sirotkin by watching WSR this yearI'd like to see him in F1 and a midfield team, whether thats Torro Rosso or FI (unlikely I know) just to see how a real rookie should do in relation to Sorotkin. Will be interesting to see how much of hi spotential he fulfills as well, plus if he shows that sparkle that the most talented of rookies show in some way or another.
Midfield teams have their good and bad seasons (it's not that Ricciardo, Vergne or di Resta are suddenly much better than Hulkenberg), and that's even more likely the case in next year's 'all new' F1 season.

This guy comes with a lot of hype, so I'd be intrigued to see whether it's justified or not in the unforgiving environment of F1.
