I'm sure you'll find this title on everyone's short list of favorite racing books, always worth another look. I might read it a couple of times a year -- I've probably long since memorized all the great technical info, but it's simply such a charming personal story by Donohue from such a magical time in American racing, that I like to go back again and again.

You convinced me Magoo; copy on way. Thank you!
I'm glad to hear it. I'm confident I haven't oversold it but I would still like to hear what you think of the book. Let me know!

You are possibly aware that the taped interviews with Donohue for that book were later used by Michael Argetsinger to glean further information for his book on the man?
After picking them up in California, the tapes were played in the car tape player all the way back to Chicago...

I'm only halfway thru but can say confidently, you haven't oversold it.
A driver whom I never followed closely during his time which was well before the www came along. My focus other then races in my own country was F1 - I was aware of his being and passing, in that regard, but not much more.
Reading on.

I hoped you would like it. It's always been one of my favorites. If anyone has more suggestions for the Bookshelf series, I am all ears.

I agree with packapoo. I'm only about a third in because I'm a slow reader, but it lives up to the hype.
