How dusty is the tarmac? (Some one who is at the track, please).
I don't think its dust, its rubber that's not there

No sand on the tarmac at all then? Is the track green (no previous races on it)?I don't think its dust, its rubber that's not there

So far so good.Who would've thought that the last quarter of this awesome season would turn into another 2011..

Yeah, huge let down indeed.

Too early to know what the last quarter will be like. Just 3/4 races ago, McLaren looked like the best car. Now it's RB, but things could change again.Who would've thought that the last quarter of this awesome season would turn into another 2011..

It is the start of a double header weekend. Not much can be done in betweek the Indian and Abu Dhabi GPs. Definitely looks good for Vettel and the Red Bull, but it was only FP1.Barring a DNF....this is redbull's to lose .....not much in it amongst the top teams but just enough for vettel to clinch......

Mercedes running the "device" on Schumachers car.
What device? Option 13 back in action?

Has a team ever taken a year off to try and perfect the following years car? In 20 years no one would remember that Merc didn't race in 2013 just that they won the championship in 2014.... I suppose there would be all sorts of financial issues with that though(sponsors, CC money...)

Not a fan of Herbert. Just doesn't seem very bright.
"That was a slow time!?" on Raikonnen's high fuel run...

To be fair, Alonso had a lot of laps on them tyrews before his fastest lap, i doubt RB are that far clear
Spot on. Alonso was on lap 8 of his stint when he set that time whilst Vettel only did a 3 lap stint.

Yep, not to mention 2013...The last races are going to be a massive disappointment to end the season, considering how it started.

2nd part of the season, 6 races = OMG this will be interesting! We have a great fight between couple of drivers for the title, cars almost identical, every1 can win! Hell yeah!

3rd and the last part of the season, last 7 races = WOW! OMG! He is back! Return of the finger! Domination by big bad Bulls! We are doomed! Nooooooooo!

This isn't the way I want Vettel to win his third championship: it just doesn't feel like a true battle for the title anymore. Either Vettel will not run into problems and he will win or he will run into problems and Alonso might sneak it. It seems unlikely to me that they will be battling each other on track and, what's worse, given the Red Bull's car advantage over the rest of the field since McLaren were neutered by the load tests in Suzuka Vettel is unlikely to be battling anyone.
I'd be amazed if we don't have another Red Bull 1-2 in qualifying.

As a couple of users already pointed out above,The RB is starting to look dominant now to the tune of 0.5s. Really taking the pressure of Seb, not what the neutrals want to see.
Gary Anderson: "The Red Bulls are quick for sure but Ferrari are not going to lie down. That was Alonso's eighth lap on the same tyres, while Vettel was on his third timed lap. You don't quite know how much fuel they are on.

Vettel had an outlap, and 3 timed lap before the 26.2 (1 fast and 2 cruising) Alonso had an outlap, and 6 timed lap before the 26.8 (2 fast and 4 cruising)
