Vettel/RBR cruises to victory in the last four races, but people here still don't believe that the car is dominant?

7 victories for RBR
5 victories for McLaren
3 victories for Ferrari

The one good thing about the Ferrari is reliability. They got that sorted.

Reliability is important factor when thinking about dominance. At the moment Red Bull is dominating. Alonso's mistake at Suzuka's start is starting to haunt him.

It is the best car now but WEB and VET have to put it on the front row and have a great start because it is very slow on the straights and they wouldn't be able to overtake a McLaren or a Ferrari even with Kers and DRS.

Somewhat

RBR+Seb combo is the best out there right now. Ferrari+Alonso is not far behind.

Ok, now I'm sure that this track is the worst on the calendar. Even worse than Abu Dhabi - similar race wise but Yas Marina is at least somewhat aestethically pleasing. I even prefer no overtaking to this ridiculous DRS zone.

The trio of Korea, India and Abu Dhabi are all pretty poor tbh, the worst on the calendar.

You don't get invited to do the podium-talk by being a negative and F1-criticizing 'journalist'. ;)

Lights to flag-victory from Vettel again. In a car to his liking, he's magnificent when he can lead right from the off.
I think it was a very impressive performance from Webber as well, who of course suffered KERS-problems for the 6000th time, and was then vulnerable from attacks, and also lost some pace.

-Magnificent race from Alonso, giving it all, and losing the minimum points as he said himself. Good day for Massa too, finishing sixth and defending being critical on fuel.

-Strong performance from Hamilton in a car that has seemed to drop in and out of the right operating window all weekend. Pushed relentlessly for the last few laps, but finishes fourth. Button, who was seriously quick on the primes towards the end, brings it home fifth.

-Räikkönen seventh, where he started. He's got to be content with that 'cause when you have to lowest top-speed..... Well then you can't do anything. Good job from Grosjean too, racing Hülkenberg and being on the opposite tyre-strategy. A job well done, finishing ninth from 11th.

-Hülkenberg seemed to have a relatively action-filled race. First of all he got good points again, but he was very often racing others and/or being kept honest.
It has shifted between him and Di Resta all season but to me Hülkenberg seems to now be established as the better of the two.

-I'm very happy for Senna to get the last point. A deserved and fitting result when he's been very strong all weekend. Very good pass on Rosberg or Grosjean, don't remember. A bit of the old Maldonado shoing himself today, when he chucked his car right infront of Kobayashi's, slitting his own right rear.

-Petrov has another good weekend.

It's all Red Bull tracks from Singapore to the end, that's why they're so dominant. Calendar needs to be more balanced, this is rubbish. Abu Dhabi will be Vettel again, with ease.

Fantastic performance all weekend from Vettel and an impressive win.

Alonso's drive was just incredible, though. He ought to be coming out of this GP a further 8 points down from Vettel with the WDC all but out of reach. He's kept it alive. Yes, it looks like Vettel's to lose, but one mess up from him or RB in the next 3 races and who knows ...

Or Red Bull deliberately designs their car for the tracks coming up in the last part of the season? That can also be the case :-)
Anyway, good race without many position changes. Mighty Alonso again, the only driver deserving the crown this year.
I still have a little hope that Vettel's car will be disqualified, there is no way that wooden plank underneath the car will still have enough wood left!

Karthikeyan seems very angry about break failure. And he is right, it's very dangerous and it's not the first time.

The general opinion of this forum... Newey is uber awesome and he deserves all credit for wins and championships as if the whole team (and drivers) does not exists.
On contrary you know who the most hated man is.... Tilke lol he really gets no love, but maybe Vettel on his winning days come close second :D

That redbull isn't that dominant. Vettel is just damn fast at the moment and we need to accept it. :D Hopefully Alonso could do something in the final races to make it exciting. Vettel's confidence would need a major hit. Maybe starting position behind Alonso would mean that he would be stuck with that Renault engine + shorter gear ratios. Like Raikkonen behind Massa today. But we will see. Hopefully the WC won't be decided by any reliability issues.

Did Lazenby (Sky) really ask Whithmarsh if a steering wheel change happens in 1 in 20 pit stops when Whithmarsh said they are very rare? Did he even know what F1 was before this season?

I think he meant it was a 1 in 20 pitstop as in if you did 20 pitstops with a steering wheel change, only 1 would go as well as that.

 Vettel - He could not have done much better - great pace on one of his favourite tracks. Quick reaction when Maldonado was suddenly in front of him.
 Alonso - Good fight to climb up from P5 and P2 and damage limitation, which still gives him a good shot at the WDC.
 Hulkenberg - Again, some good wheel-to-wheel action and valuable points. He seems to mature and is the driver most likely to advance to a top team in 2014 in my opinion.

  McLaren - They look fast at times, but do not seem to be able to be consistently fast for the entire race.
  Webber - He did well to keep Hamilton behind him with a no / less powerful KERS, but lost too much time in the first stint.

great drive by Alonso and also Bruno Senna

increedibly dull race on another terrible Tilke Bore-a-drome- we have 4 of these awful tracks in a row- Korea, India, Abu Dhabi and Austin (assuming it;s the same kind of track). At least AD will look good under the lights

:rotfl: Vettel, Alonso and Button all gave their all in the last lap: Button 28.2, Alonso 28.6 Vettel 28.7

What a truly dominant car.

and Senna 28.4, I think it's pretty clear that Williams is the 2nd best car and 0.3 sec a lap faster than RB, right? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Has that never happened before? Wow.

Just watched it, as I had overtime at work and can't turn it down.

Can't fault what Red Bull and Vettel do, it's amazing. But with next weekend in Abu Dhabi there's not a lot to look forward to.

I don't mind F1 going to new countries, but if it's going to keep serving up these kind of tracks, my enthusiasm will slowly dwindle.

That is when FIA should realize how ridiculous the procedures are. This is not the first time that a car that genuinely overtook another car before DRS got penalized for it.

I don't have the exact number of attendance at the circuit today. But going by what I saw, this may well be a race that may sustain well in the future. The race is not funded by the government, there is lot of support for F1 in India, and it gets converted to attendance. But they still need to lower the ticket prices and food prices. Track facilities and viewing arrangements for the spectators are excellent. You get a nice a panoromic view of most of the circuit from most place because of the many altitude differences, and all the stands are very strategically located in that sense.

Nah, the track itself is much better than Abu Dhabi, Valencia and Singapore put together. At least let the guys race on tracks they enjoy. Made for some decent racing too. Not a classic but decent.

Another hard fought Vettel victory not, stick it on pole and drive into the distance.

It is heading to be a dull end to a season that promised much at the start with so many different winners.

What a boring race. Had to go out soon after the start, but I knew when I switched off the telly at the end of lap 2 that I wasn't missing much. The season started as the best close-fought competition in recent years and it's ending with RBR dominance. Thank you very much to the design departments at Woking and Maranello, I don't think. Try to keep up with Newey's lot next year will you? ):

Does anyone have or know where to find a lap chart for the race?

I'm quite curious about the pace in the midfield for the 2nd half of the race. It looked like pretty much the whole field down to Kobayashi in 14th was doing the same lap times. Did anyone else notice that?

This is the real kick in the teeth. The anti-climactic ending to the season is all the more a bitter pill to swallow for this very reason.

The season review DVD should be renamed "A Tale of Two Seasons".....

Season # 1 Melbourne - Hungary: incredible.
Season # 2 Spa - Brazil: sh*t.

In all seriousness, did the length of the summer break rob the championship of all its momentum?

Or did Red Bull comply with the two week shutdown or did they do something less in keeping with the spirit of the rules?

It's strange that they had a five week gap, then cram the last few races in. Can't be great for teams logistics wise.
