This is something fairly modern, but I'm not sure where else to look. For some years, from what I can tell 1994-1999, there was a separate privateer point standing for the Australian Touring Car Championship or Shell Championship Series (as it was known in 1999.) It definitely ended in 1999, and was more then likely replaced by the Konica Series which eventually became the Dunlop Series, which is the V8 Supercar development series. There were seperate races held for privateers, from 1995 or 1996 onwards up until 1999. It appears to me that this was a championship for teams, because in 1998, for example, the championship was won by Trevor Ashby/Steve Reed, who drove the same car at different races. From the Conrod stats website, I figured out part of the standings for the 94-99 seasons, by looking through driver pages, though they aren't complete and there are some inaccuracies. What I am looking for help with, is perhaps some actual standings from those years.

Recently I have delved into the early years of the Australian V8 Supercar years and at one point have started to dive into 1999 to discover this:

I haven't got any further than the opening round at Eastern Creek, but will suspect that a Saturday Privateer Cup race was held at each ATCC meeting?

My recollection is that it was a race in a race. Privateers scored points for their own series.

I was involved round the edges in that period and cannot remember any standalone  races .
