what a shame, I would rather they got some new blood in f1, someone who wasn't let go by f1 team for not being good enough.
Well the same happened to Hulkenberg.

he was let go because of the -40 million he brings compared to Maldonado, not because of lack of talent.Well the same happened to Hulkenberg.
btw why does this need a new thread? I thought we had silly season 2013 for these kind of information.

Agreed. Alguersuari was a pretty promising. Granted I don't think he'll ever do anything like win a title, but he's not bad at all. Definitely capable of Trulli-esque journeyman status for sure. He just kept improving more and more each year. I was genuinely shocked when he was dropped by Toro Rosso.I really hope this is true. Not only because he was thrown in and cast away so roughly and at such a young age, but because I'm absolutely fascinated to see how he compares to another now known driver, after he gets back up to speed. I was happy to see the new guys go into STR but for some reason I have a nagging suspicion Red Bull may have made a boo boo letting him go like that.
The crazy thing is that, if he does return with Force India, he'll still be about the same age as the other rookies despite not even being a rookie at all. Crazy how young he was when he was thrown into F1.

At the rate things are going, it's starting to feel like Alguersuari's "announcing something really soon" may become as bad as Coulthard's "this will be my year."This is 4th or 5th time this year when Alguersuari is supposed to announce "something" very soon. Will it be the last or we will have the same rumour in the next week or two?

We are thinking about it, but we are in no immediate hurry because there does not seem to be the kind of quality we need to replace Nico available, either in the current grid or in GP2. We have to think a little bit beyond that, which we are doing now.
Formula1.com interview
Not on the current grid, not in GP2. All signs points to JA.

Pretty sure ALG confirmed it was Force India on twitter a while back. He was tweeting pics from inside a supermarket, and there was a guy wearing a two-year old Force India shirt buying Doritos in aisle 3.
Says it all really.
He also tweeted a picture of him in a gym with somebody wearing a Lotus top, so that doesn't say much.

Sutil is a known quantity to them.I think they'll end up retaining di Resta as a benchmark.

Sutil and Bianchi (World Series) are not part of the current grid or part of GP2 either.

Is Di Resta completely safe? He's been very poor this season IMO. A Sutil-Alguersuari pairing could be possible?

No. If Force India ever intended to chose Sutil over di Resta, their line-up in 2012 would have been Sutil-Hulkenberg, not di Resta-Hulkenberg.Is Di Resta completely safe? He's been very poor this season IMO. A Sutil-Alguersuari pairing could be possible?

maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see anything so special about him compared to the other options, perhaps he found a good sponsor or something?

Huh? DC never said that. F1Racing had it on their cover once though.
...
Which sponsors does Alguersuari bring along?

I'm surprised by that, he was not bad, but never really impressed me, seemed to be on the same level as Buemi at best...

Tend to agree, i know what someone does in F1 is what really counts but in my opinion how you do in junior formula's is an indication of your underlaying, natural talent and although Jaime's record isn't bad its not enough to convince me that he is anything special. I'd happily be proved wrong though. I'd rather see Bianchi in the seat if i'm honest.

Him and Sutil are the best drivers in the market, but Sutil has legality issues. Would be a good call, I hope it's true. Although I do want to see Jules Bianchi in F1 too at some point, and this was his best chance.

Bianchi - Not as impressive as those two other young drivers in WSR.
Di Resta - Fallen too far behind Hulkenberg, Kamui is much closer to Perez.
Senna - Demolished by Pastor, who has been erratic as hell.

Perfect FI team given avaliable drivers: Kobayashi + Jamie. A
^^This would be my first choice also.
Kovalainen/di Resta would be second choices.

Wow, I'd be cheering Force India on every race weekend if that happened. Huge supporter of both guys.
I think it's unrealistic to think that di Resta will be given the boot though. While Hulkenberg clearly has an edge over him, he's not as bad as some make him out to be.
