I don't have a favorite race, it was a great season overall. But it's noteworthy how the two races that got "OMG snoozefest coming" (Valencia - Abu Dhabi) before the fact are now ranked as great races for the season

Poll is skewed by fanboys voting Abu Dhabi and Valencia because of the results. They were entertaining but not even close to Brazil.

It is a poll of your 'favourite race' so the results would definitely factor in. If there is a case to be made in the voting being based only on results it may perhaps be for the existence of 'anti-fanboys' - with 210 votes cast only 6 have gone to races won by Red Bull! That is less than 3% for the vote to the championship team. Very interesting.

Anyway the winner of the 'favourite race of the year' is clearly Brazil. And in winning by a very large margin your comment is perfectly correct, none of the other races came close to Brazil.

Not everyone here thinks that Brazil was their favorite race of the season even if you do. In races like Abu Dhabi for instance it was the drivers that truly made the show and not the added chaos brought by the weather like in Brazil.

Malaysia. While Brazil was an amazing race, it lacked action in last 10 laps, whereas Malaysia was a true nailbiter ever since SC left the track.

Abu Dhabi because:

My favorite won and usually the most boring race turned to be really exiting.

Brazil was also really entertaining, maybe too much controlled by the weather.

I don't like the easy choice, that everybody voted for....but I still have to admit, that Brazil has been the best for me. Despite the bad outcome it was the most thrilling race for an FI fan ;)

Montreal is always special, Kimi winning in Abu Dhabi was great, along with the fantastic, new Austin track, which will provide exciting races for years to come. Hard to argue with Brazil though-weather, title on the line, Vettel spin and recovery, MS last race. It had it all.

Malaysia, China, Europe, Abu Dhabi and Brazil were all stand outs for me. If I had to pick one it'd be China, but that's just IMO.

Brazil, by a mile. Action, entertainment, suspense, shocks and surprises right through the field from lights-out to chequered flag.

Best races I reckon were:

China
Valencia - who'd have thought! at last, pity too late...
Belgium
Abu Dhabi
Brazil

I put Brazil as the best.

Montreal always seems to provide an action filled race and this year was no exception, although with just a one or two stop strategy this time around. A beautiful venue and great for the fans as well as the cars are so close. Hamilton won the race his third in Canada and was the seventh different winner in seven races in 2012!

what makes a race great??? i'd argue many things depending on for what reason you watch them. accusing Abu-dhabi and Valencia poles as "skewed by fanboy" is just playing snobbish. Abu dhabi was a pressure cooker not only for Kimi fan like me, but also to Vettel fans and Alonso fans as well. Valencia was a bit earlier in the season, so i'd say the tension was less, but it was above all entertaining and unpredictable with multiple retirement. but even i'd admit Brazil was the best of the season primarily due to vettels first lap incident, that's what kept the race from being processional (even in wets). but even then after first 25 laps, we knew what was gonna happen with the strategically positioned Red Bull cars ahead of Seb, in any case, he'll have that 5th place, which was later cemented by Hulk-hamilton crash. from Alonso fan's POV, nothing spectacular from him (driving wise), it's more like '08, massa cruising and hamilton having to scrape for points, or like '07 with kimi clinching by the hair's width. in that regard, i'd rate both 07 and 08 championship deciders above '12 one.

then again that's purely my POV :smoking:

1. Brazil (that's all what you want!)
2. Australia (crazy last lap)
3. Austin (Hermann Tilke did it?)
4. Valencia (Who would have thought?)
5. Abu-Dabi (Who would have thought?-2)
Supreme season!
