I'm helping to compile some F1 statistics for a project with a friend and was looking for information regarding the number of pit-stops made in each F1 season since 1997. I've performed multiple web searches on the matter, but I can't seem to find the data I'm looking for, which would be the total number of pit-stops performed by all the teams each year. I've found the data for 2011-2012, but I can't seem to find any information on the number of pit stops made in the years before then.
I'm sure there's an internet database out there that has the information we need--FORIX immediately springs to mind, but neither of us are subscribers so we wouldn't be able to access or provide a source for the information to non-subscribers. So I'm calling on you stat-savvy F1 nuts here at Atlas (*ahem*... Autosport

If the mods feel that this thread isn't appropriate for RC, I propose that the thread can become a place for the discussion of the pit-stop statistics and the implications of the rule changes on the number of pit-stops over the years once the relative information is found. If not, then I apologise and hope the appropriate action for this thread will be taken.

Thanks in advance for your help, everyone.
