I remember another amazing two-wheeled save by Peter Oettl but I can't find it on youtube.

Well, the other kind of 'bodywork'
God, i can't find any vids. I'm searching for the Button spin in Korea 2010 and i think Montoyas save in 06 Melbourne (not sure though). Youtube is just completely flooded by the vids for codemasters game

You should try minus (-) parameter in youtube to get rid of unwanted search results.God, i can't find any vids. I'm searching for the Button spin in Korea 2010 and i think Montoyas save in 06 Melbourne (not sure though). Youtube is just completely flooded by the vids for codemasters game
For example trying to find Montoya in melbourne:
Montoya Melbourne -game -codemasters
That leaves off any results including game and codemasters in videos name at least.

Senna saves it where Alesi and Nannini bin it.

Well, they're nowhere near Mark 'Gordon Banks' Webber's 2003 Brazil save anywayGod, i can't find any vids. I'm searching for the Button spin in Korea 2010 and i think Montoyas save in 06 Melbourne (not sure though). Youtube is just completely flooded by the vids for codemasters game

Keeping two (loaded) tyres on the dry line = smart. Senna = smart. Alesi and Nannini weren't that day.
Senna saves it where Alesi and Nannini bin it.

Didn't Mansell set a fastest time at a session (not sure if practice, Q or what) in a lap where he did a 360 spin in Monaco?
I think you mean the 1990 Imola GP. Mansell in the Ferrari was alongside Berger (I think) but he put two wheels on the grass, did a full 360 and then kept going with little time lost. Cant find a video of it but it was damn impressive car control (and a lot of luck!)

Yes, I remember that one well. David Hobbs went nuts on ESPN!

This is one of the best I've ever seen: Mark Higgins on the Manx rally. The Sullivan and Randy Mamola ones were amazing.
Totally, this one sticks with me always. The whole thing afterwards is so funny too with Higgins coming to terms with how flat they could've been and his passenger just "yeah allright, this is kinda cool I guess"

Hang on, thought this was the greatest save since Banks on Pele.
Well technically, this is the first best save since Gordon Banks, as it happened 5 years before Hamilton's save at Turkey 2008.

His co-driver either has balls of steel or is on drugs

Vettels save today was amazing!
He lost control and spun into a wall. He didn't save anything, he simply took off again when the car stopped spinning.
Once the wheels are locked there is no more driver control. He was a passenger and was simply lucky not to do any damage to the car.

Do we have an onboard of this? Looks like incredible luck, not save.

Oh come on you could have said the same thing about Danny Sullivan in post #51, he kept it out of the wall.

It was spectacular, but it has nothing to do with the driver's skills though.

Indeed, that save was by chance. Could've quite easily ended with a Perez style aftermath.

Can't see how this isn't a save. If that isn't a save, most of the ones posted here aren't either.

I'd say it was more luck than skill, definitely. Millimetres away from disaster.

it was a great save IMO with a fair share of luck though. The way he controlled the brakes( and the throttle when we was just about to hit the wall) had definitely something to do with skill. He didn't take the hands off the steering wheel to protect his wrists - just never gave up on saving the car.

I see your point. When Webber spun at Brazil in 2003 there was a lot of luck in which way the car ended up pointing. But if we're including Vettel's fortunate moment from today, what about Hamilton's? OK, so he actually touched the wall, but he still got away with it (by luck).

Any footage of Perez after he got hit by Hulkeberg? I thought he did a great save there through the last corner.

Alastair Cook's innings...
Seriously though I would say Webber in Brazil 2003 until he binned it later but that was a massive save.

technically not a save but noteworthy how he kept it on the road with the broken suspension.

The best in my opinion. The speed, those walls, and what's at stake, make this recovery numero uno.

I think Perez had a pretty cool save in Hungary after being clunked by his team-mate round the final corner but I don't think there any good camera angles of it?
