What is, in your opinion, the most accurate and fun F1 racing game for the PC? What I am looking for is all drivers (no John Newhouse thank you very much), all tracks, all liveries. If the game comes with the no-tobacco liveries and downloads are available to make them "official" then all is good.

I have no experience with these sorts of games only with FPS. If you want info about these games, I'm your frickin guy!!!;)

Best Regards,
KinetiK

Oh yes, and the wheel. my friend has a wheel and it's forcefeedback etc (Logitech red grippy thing i think) but the pedals slide all over the floor and the wheel doesn't grip very well either. is the Microsoft Wheel better? Are there others that totally completely rock ?

Hi

As far as i know Logitech Formula Force is the best wheel for PC, not because i have one :-), but because many of the Polish GPL League drivers use those wheels. Microsoft's is worse, believe me - a frend who plays racing sims for 5 or 6 years tested it and he said that only pedals are good, wheel is much worse than Logitech. After 2 years of using this one i have no problems at all !

Sim what you're looking for is F 1 Racing Championship - right now it's simply the best modern F1 sim. But if you want to go back in time i recommend you Grand Prix Legends - the best racing sim ever !

That F1 Racing Championship is for Nintendo 64 only right?

What about for the PC? Grand Prix 3 seems to be customisable enough in that full liveries (w/tobacco) and driver's helmets can be downloaded and installed to give the game the right feel... Plus Gp3-2000 is out right away (April it seems) so... Is GP3 the best?

Grand Prix Legends is an amazing game. 1967 GP cars though, many downloadable addons for it. GP3 is also very good, you just need download a carset to rid yourself of that troublesome Mr. Newhouse. And I have heard that the new one from EA is very good, F-1 Championship Season, I believe it is called. Stay away from F-1 2000 by EA, it sucks. Looks really good, but you need a super computer to play it.

Oh yeah, don't bother with the GP3 add on when it comes out. You can download the tracks and liveries for free, and they look much better than anything Hasbro could do

The best racing sim is Grand Prix Legends. There are lots of add on tracks and other features plus a strong online racing network. Most people seem to think the best FF wheels are either the old LWFF or the Act Labs. Either will perform better with quality pedals such as CH (non-pro) or TSW. The best non-FF wheel is the TSW.

Monaco Grand Prix isn't too bad. Cars look kinda funny though.

IMO Grand Prix Legends is the best F1 sim ever, because the cars feel so real and it´s just so difficult to drive them...You have to be really very good in order to get a good laptime...It offers a challenge:D whereas GP3 is actually quite simple;)

Maybe you should try a Guillemot Ferrari FF Wheel, it seems to be very good...The Act Labs is maybe better, but also more expensive ;)

I just installed F1 Championship season...and quickly uninstalled it! It sucks! I found it too "arcadish" and I'm not into that. GPL rules, but for modern sims I like GP3 quite a bit. I too use the Logitech wheel and it's very good.

Although GPL is a great sim...I find the EA F1 2000 quite good. I was disappointed with GP3, the car physics weren't improved at all. My wish would be to car physics like gpl and flash of eaf1.

Crammond's Grand Prix 1,2&3 are the best and most realistic!
Try www.grandprix2.com, if you don't already know it (many, many download add ons with car sets for almost every f1-season since 1975!!!).

Crammonds GP3 is the biggest ripoff in the modern sim era. It is just GP2 with extra graphics. The handling and physics are appalling.

Unfortunately there is no decent modern day F1 sim at the moment.:(

Spot on...

I must admidt that i haven't tried F1 Racing Championship yet, but i feel from what i have read, that it isn't as good as it could/should have been. I'll just have to wait and see who bad/good it actually is :)

All PSX F-1 games are crap. Maybe F-1 Championship 97 is the exception, but none are realistic. Stick with PC racers

OT, but it was asked: The first step forward since '97 is EA Sports' F1 2000 Championship for PS2.

With all the most realistic settings I find it hard to win. After four rounds I'm third in the championship now - and the level is intermediate, not expert as with several other F1 games I've played with in PSX.

Not a perfect game but still it takes the middle place in the podium. Car handling, opponents, details of the track and surroundings, sense of reality - far better than for example in EA Sports' F1 2000 for PSX.

and damonhillchamp96 , you're right as long as you've got really a top of the line PC and at least 24 inches screen/play it through tv. I just hate the feeling that I pretend to be racing and I got to peek in a small box.

So, I read this and if I got it right...

EA Formula 1 Championship Season 2001 is the best / most current out there for PC if you have a beefy computer... otherwise GP3 seems to be the choice.

...and the Logitech Formula Force wheel is #1.

Right?

F1 Racing Championship is amazing. Just brilliant and a must buy if you want a F1 sim. The only weakness is the AI can be a bit crap at times but its not that bad and they are doing a patch to fix it.

Grand Prix 3 + Logitech WingMan Formula Force + 3D Card (GeForce) + Internet

Grand Prix 3 is the king! It's probably not what we expected but you can get whatever you want from Internet. And if you want safety car, pit-to-car communication, stopped races, etc. just wait for GP3 2000 & GP4. Just stick to these series. Long life Geoff Crammond ;-)

Unfortunately beautifull game doesn't mean that is also good game.
Especially Formula 1 games.
F1RS, MGF1RS2, F1RC, F12000 are very amazing looking games.
But!
Gamepay is pretty ****. AI are very stupid and framespeed is awfull.

GP3 doesn't look so good and tracks have some weird bugs, but gameplay is amazing good - very special mention to wet-weather racing.

GP3 is best F1 game of current rivals.
