But they have fairly large starting feelds, better then in other sporscar categories so we must concede that something is right with the formula after all. Maybe because the France family (NASCAR) is behind it?

Well actually, that used to be the case, but lately they've had massive problems of attracting even ten car DP fields!! Lots of arguments going on about the "health" of the category

And in Europe the racing trucks are actually bigger and heavier than the touring cars!

Don't care too much about Dakar anymore. I still regret that we never got what could have been the best the best ever Dakar in History.

Imagine Porsche to have continued one more year with the 959s and thus be in the 1987 event.
Up against the Peugeots that debuted that year.....
That would have been the ultimate confrontatation....
