F1 and Indy Car races in America on TV

Hate to even ask this and probably shouldn't...but I will: are there any website someone can PM me and tell me where I can find them. I have missed Indy cars that last two years because of it and now with F1 going that way, I don't want to miss them anymore!!
Thanks,
Neuz

But info is pretty scarce so far. I'm not really sure what there is to gain by waiting to tell people how the new F1 coverage will be...except maybe suspense...guess we'll get more info as the season goes on. (or starts, lol)
I'm actually kind of worried to see what is going to happen now that indy is opening for some F1 races (and possibly vice versa, depending on the continent they're on)... What if they only have like 30~min of buffer time before the race starts, and the 1st race has an extended caution? Are they just going to cut the coverage of the first?
I see that as being a very far fetched possibility, but hey, it could happen

You must have a subscription with either a satellite or cable company and use your ID from that to get the 'Live Stream'.
Just like the Olympics. They use Microsoft Silverlight and it's buggy as hell.
(at least it was for the Olympics however at 4am / 8am on a Sunday you might be ok traffic wise)
One good thing NBCSN has done is move the channel to the basic tier on DirecTV so that would potentially be the best way to acquire the station.
You could email them and ask for more info...nbcsportshelp@nbcuni.com
And YES Virginia, you will be able to "find something" online I am sure.
OR..
Just send me $67.75 and join my exclusive Nigerian streaming club.
All we need is your bank account number and routing info.

I'm not sure how well that works if you have avoided the result for 24 hours though, as you open the Indycar homepage to be greeted with a photo of the previous days race winner...

This is quite a ridiculous situation. F1 claims that America is the biggest market, yet they farm the TV rights out to a channel that doesn't have 100% penetration.

I agree. SpeedTV was okay, because some places have that as basic cable. But I have never been anywhere that had NBCsports as basic cable.
I really wish it went to ESPN.

NBC Sports Network is on the basic package on DirecTV on channel 220... It is also on the basic Digital Starter package on Comcast.
All sessions will be available to watch on NBC Sports Network and online...

Correct. Mostly...NBC Sports Network is on the basic package on DirecTV on channel 220... It is also on the basic Digital Starter package on Comcast.
All sessions will be available to watch on NBC Sports Network and online...
NBCSports will air every session of 15 races live on TV. Four races (races only) will be broadcast on the main NBC broadcast network. They will be Canada, UAE, USA and Brazil...all live.. The other sessions for those weekends will be on NBCSports. All live, all the time.
All sessions of all 19 races will also be streamed live.
Much better programming than Speed ever did.
Don't know/care squat about IndyCar races...

No offense taken.
I am just happy that NBC is bringing a good crew and keeping out Varsha and Posey. Never liked those cats.
I keep mentioning ESPN because of how much I like their NASCAR coverage. They really seem to treat the sport with respect while FOX pushes it out like it was rasslin.
Also glad that practice will be shown. It is awesome that Practice 1,2,3 and qually will be televised. Means I can set my DVR and watch everything. I wonder if the crew will commentate on it or if they will just air it? Now that I think of it, I suppose it would have to be commentated on.

I use a DVR on my PC, and the Formula 1 tag was left over from last year, and guest what I saw in a few weeks set to record?
I'm not sure what NBC Sports has to gain by not releasing concrete information...I guess they know we have to other choice to get the races than their network anyways (bar buying bbc//sky sports)

My DVR says they will cover P1 & P2 on Friday, qualifying and the race live for Australia. The channel guide doesn't go far enough into the future for more than that race.
Just my own 2¢ worth, The Speed coverage was great. Far better than IndyCar. I will miss Posey, but am super pleased that Hobbs, Matchett, Buxton, & Diffey are on the new team. If NBC at least equals Speed's coverage it will keep me happy.
If you don't get it, write your cable company and squawk. They won't know anyone wants it if they don't hear from people. It's a business and they try to give customers what they want. Find out which dish networks have it and mention them in the letter.
A friend of the wife has a dish, I forgot which brand, and it works fairly well. It does lose signal if there is heavy snow or rain. I am not sure how many TVs you can hook up to it. The wife's friend only has 2 TVs. It has DVRs as part of the package. She pays about $100/mo for the TV part of a TV/Phone/Internet package that costs $175/mo. The phone and Internet come from the phone company who bundles it locally and services everything.

They are not doing a great job at reassuring people that they will be covering it somehow. Information is even scarcer up in Canada. I have heard talk that it will be on a channel that is normally outdoorsy stuff like hunting and fishing. Best of luck to us all.
