Joe Saward mentioned all these fund running dry rumours were spread out by Lotus 's competitors on getting Honeywell deal. Now they are spreading the team gonna lose their key figure.

Welcome to corporate world.

Ugh, I hate the silly season.

Allison has clearly been doing a good job so it shouldn't be surprising that everyone wants him. I hope that Lotus keep him, though.

I wouldnt want to work in Merc. Too many opinions of ex bosses on the car, James can express himself freely in Enstone and his idea on car design fully.

Lauda's planning to kidnap all the technical directors lock them in a room in their castle in Brackley like Baron Bomburst in Chitty Bang Bang and ask them to turn the W03 into a flying car! :)

It's impossible to know how important one member of a big technical / design team is, but there is another reason JA leaving would be a real pity for fans of Lotus and their drivers: His down-to-earth comments and interviews last season were much more informative than Boullier's and Permane's somehow confusing and / or self-glorifying statements...

I agree. He seems like a good guy.

The fact that Allison worked in ferarri for 5 years before and willingly went to Enstone for long term suggested that he prefer the environment over there with less politics.

There are too many team bosses in Merc, James won't be able to make final call and express his idea freely as he could in enstone.
