So I just read a quote on my twitter thread "Novak Djokovic (tennis world no.1): "1987 was quite a good year for athletes to be born. Me, Murray, Messi, Vettel... Not bad." "

I was wondering if there was any year in particular when there was a high number of racing drivers born? Or maybe a year when all the babies would grow to become great racing legends?

A quick look down the F1 grid shows 1981 - Alonso and Massa, 1985 - Hamilton, Rosberg and Maldonado. Since I am not really that familiar with other racing categories, I would love it if you guys can help me out here!

I just know that Rosberg is born one day later but one year earlier than me

1987 was a great year for athletes being born - can't include myself as it's been years since I've won anything , even a game of badminton or squash .

Two more names to add to the 87 list; Jorge Lorenzo and Sidney Crosby. Also, Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas played in the 2010 World Cup Final.

Not currently racing, but Buemi is.

I was born in 1984: Kubica easily topping that age group but sadly his F1 career was cut short. Other drivers include Petrov, di Grassi and Chandhok. Other motorsport people include Brad Keselowski.
