Personally, what is your single most important / beloved / anticipated / biggest / favourite motorsport event (NOT SERIES) of the year? Which event makes you most nervous of excitment while waiting for it to start, which is the one that you cannot possibly miss above all others, which is the absolute blue ribbond of your racing calendar?

It can be a single seater, stock car, sportscar, touring car, rallying, biking, drag or any other racing related event. The reasoning behind your choice can be anything (history, heritage, track, personal memories, importance in racing world, general excitment it gives you, personal attendance, time of the year or whatever). HOWEVER: Please, if you're gonna answer something like "they're all equally great" or "I wait all of them with equal passion and only the one where my favourite driver/team wins can afterwards be considered the most important for me" or "too many to list so I tell you about eleven of them" or "for me complete season is always more important than any single event" or anything cryptic like that, just... keep it to yourself :)

Just one answer please

Mine obviously...

I would trade my soul to the devil in a heartbeat if it meant that this race was to continue forever.
I would gladly give up watching any other racing and sports related programming if it meant that I was still able to watch this one race.
It is my racing highlight of the year by country mile.

japanese GP: because of the history of the track, the quality of the racing and the suitability for my timezone.

Come to think of it, there really is no stand out F1 GP. Melbourne has the season beginning buzz, Monaco is Monaco, but they are no distinguished in bigger scheme of things. Same points, same rules, same everything.

Then, there are races like Indy, Le Mans, Daytona, Isle of Man, that stand out way over any other race in their series callendars. And other sports have their main events.

Maybe F1 is missing out on something.

The GP at the Nürburgring.... since... as it looked this year it might very well be that it is the last time there will be at GP there

Decider F1 race - whereever it is each season. Even in domineering years, I get just as excited when the winner has a chance to be declared - even if it is several races before the finale.

The Indy 500. It's history and traditions are rivaled by few other races.

The 24 hours of Le Mans, without a shadow of a doubt.

It's not an event but a day, the Sunday of Memorial day weekend. Monaco followed by the Indy 500 followed by the 600.

It's my favorite day of the year.

Goodwood Revival

Although a quick edit to say that if Le Mans could go back to being a race properly supported by several manufacturers, ideally with only 2 classes, like the late 80's that would be my choice, but these days it's all a bit meh...

Has to be Le Mans, particularly this year as I'll be going to see the race in person. :D

I'm going to have to be boring and admit it's the first F1 GP of the season that usually gets me excited the most. I know it's nothing like the Le Mans 24h or the Indy 500 in terms of prestige and uniqueness, but it's the truth.

To be fair this year I'm feeling little excitement on the F1 front as I don't expect to be any surprises or shuffling of the pecking order, so I'm a little less hyped up for Melbourne than usual.

Goodwood Revival without a doubt. Bit harder for me to attend these days, now that my local circuit is Daytona.
