The recent documentary prompted me to have a look for this footage I took. Colin McRae in his Mk2 Escort and Metro 6R4 on the Killarney International Rally of the lakes 2005 and the Donegal International Rally 2006 featuring some of the best stages Ireland has to offer, Molls Gap, Ballaughbeama, Atlantic drive and Knockalla amongst others.

Fantastic! The Gilles Villeneuve of rallying.

Must say, I am a circuit racing fan, but whenever I watch the likes of this it makes me think that the best rally drivers are the most accomplished drivers on the go.

Nice one, I don't know who's the maddest between the rally boys and the road racing bikers :eek:

Cool hearing the crowd applaud him for getting a bit sideways, that's what it's all about at the end of the day isn't it?

Colin was just so fast, how sad that we lost both our World Champions ( Richard Burns) way too early.

There was a great programme on the BBC the other week with Sir Chris Hoy. Really worth a watch. Loved watching McRae driving. Even when going in a straight line, he had a slide on.
