REalistically ... Sebastian Vettel IV , cause he has The Car with him , The Team behind him, and The Momentum to move him forward.

With Byrne back helping Ferrari, my vote goes to Alonso.
Hes working on the 2014 car, IIRC, not 2013. Alonso wont get his help.

I wouldn't call Vettel a smart driver, he is fast, I'll give him that.Sebastian Vettel

Constantly finding new lines on race tracks, one of the quickest to adapt to new race tracks, good at tyre conservation and on-the-fly strategies. I'd say he is a pretty smart driver.I wouldn't call Vettel a smart driver, he is fast, I'll give him that.

that is a funny thing to say with a Hamilton helmet as an avatar.I wouldn't call Vettel a smart driver, he is fast, I'll give him that.
on topic:
let's say I'm "OK" with Vettel collecting records and stuff but I think he's getting close to the point (already passed at some haters) where the success-recognition rate goes inverse for a lot of people, so I think he'd be better off with a little gap until his next WDC.
so someone needs to fill the gap, and I'd really love if it was Kimi, if the car is really a good step forward, he'll deliver. heck, even if they had exactly the same pecking order as last year, he could be better, no rust, getting to grips with the team etc.

You mean things like the shortcutting in india?

maybe Alonso can be a threat a again, but I don't think Red Bull is going to repeat the slow start from last year, so it's going to be a lot harder...

Que "Alonso can only win because of the most successful designer of the '00s"Hes working on the 2014 car, IIRC, not 2013. Alonso wont get his help.
As for the OT, very badly worded.
Want? Kimi, because I think he's deserved >1 title.
Think? Impossible until Q3 in Australia.

A classy driver, in the best car, in a team that knows how to win.
Simple as that really.

I would like to see Vettel continue to re-write the record books. History occuring before my eyes - you simply cannot beat that - so 4 on the trot would be cool. I would also like to see Kimi snag a WDC, so that would be kicking cool as well.
shouldn't he at-least get 7 WDC's before he re-writes it??

Aided by Hamilton removing himself from the competition for at least one year.

Interesting point! I noted a similar thing for Schumacher 2000-2004: When you watched the WDCs and races in that period, you (or me at least) had the feeling to witness one of the very best F1 drivers near his peak, who had to fight hard for 3 of those 5 WDCs. When I now read all time ratings, that period is usually more or less summarised as one very long season in the best car - pretty much ignoring the challenges outside of 2002 and 2004. In that sense, 5 WDCs with a gap year in between may have been better for his reputation.let's say I'm "OK" with Vettel collecting records and stuff but I think he's getting close to the point (already passed at some haters) where the success-recognition rate goes inverse for a lot of people, so I think he'd be better off with a little gap until his next WDC.
On topic: I think Vettel has the best chances to win. The RB9 is likely to be a top3 car, possibly the best, and Vettel is still very hungry for success and improving each year. That said, I expect close racing this season with many cars capable of wins and podiums. It's almost a spec series at the moment.

I expect FIA to make RBR's (and Vettel's) life difficult if it turns out that they have the best car, so I don't expect it would be easy for Vettel. But yes, Vettel remains one of the favorites. He's probably not the best driver out there(I consider Lewis to be one), but Vettel's got the champion's mentality and that little special something that makes the difference between winning titles and coming a close second.

It depends, if the Red Bull is by far the fastest then Vettel, but if the Mercedes is less than 1.1 seconds slower than the Red Bull, Lewis.

Alonso, because I think he deserves a third title. And I think he is just as good as Vettel, perhaps even better allround.
But I hope Button, because that would throw many posters on this Forum in an amusing fit...

I think Vettel taking it but I hope either Alonso, Kimi or Hamilton takes the 2013 title as they are the best drivers around and proven that over the years. And all have been very close many times as well!Alonso, because I think he deserves a third title. And I think he is just as good as Vettel, perhaps even better allround.

The man was just as much underestimated by fan-boys from various camps last year, yet there were no signs that I can detect of him, or RBR team for that matter being in decline. If their car is reasonably competitive (not necessarilly superior, just proportionally equal at worst) with the other four or five top teams, I see very little reasons why he should not humble his competition.
Most serious threat to him most likely might rise from Lotus in some races, but not good enough to displace him.

Kimi, it would be great to see him do a double, if not Kimi then Vettel, I'd like to see him get a 4th not only to continue the run but to give him a cushion, then Button or Perez.
