Is anyone else experiencing similar problems?
My computer keeps hanging when I'm on the forum, but not when I'm navigating around stories on the site nor when on the live timing from Barcelona.
This morning, it seems as though I've at least got to the bottom of understanding the problem. The site clock and the forum clock are not synchronized, there is a difference which varies between 4 and 6 minutes. The site clock, as well as my computer are both correct and show the same time, the forum is ahead by these minutes.
If I read a thread, the forum clock freezes until I leave that thread. If I am ready to leave the thread at a correct time prior to the the forum clock, it freezes until my computer clock reads at least the time of the forum clock.
That's AOK provided there are a few posts to read. The forum clock resets, 4-6 minutes in the future on every navigation, so were I to click on to a thread with only one reply, the computer may be frozen for 5-6 minutes until it gets to at least the forum clock time.
Clearly my trusty Sony is refusing to participate in time travel, with which I am complete agreement as I have no wish to either else I would aquire a Tardis. As King proved conclusively in 11.22.63, the consequences could be dire. :stoned:

I'd spotted the fast forum clock and wondered about it, but so far (at least) no 'hanging' problems. I use both PC and iPhone on these forums.

Explorer 9, Win7x64.

You could be facing problems with the fast reply box in the bottom, try switching it off. Here I get some hiccups in the text editing boxes.

Thanks Tim. I've almost got to the stage where I'm about to throw the towel in and give the forum up as a lost cause. Driving me crackers.

I'll try that Saudoso, thanks.

It's been **** since testing started, I do not understand the issue. Surely more hits and traffic equals more revenue = I can afford the servers etc?

Well, even though no page here in PC loads in less than 30 seconds — sometimes close to one minute — I'd just say this is the usual behaviour of this BB in last years. So many shite is bound to any load it is kinda expected... If it were another place I'd just leave but this place I just can't...

Without doubt Alfisti. What bugs me, is that they don't appear to care. Getting a response on Website feedback is as likely as having lunch with Ayrton.

 Panza. Agree with your sentiment about not wanting to leave the place. Would say though that it is only recent that the bulk of the problems started. Previously only had the problems when F1 was on, never testing. When it is ok, pages load in a split second, I don't appear to have the slow loading problem, just the hanging and constant inaccessibility under the pretext of the server being too busy. Sick of it.

Win7x64 PC Chrome No more hanging probs than usual, max a few seconds frequently but occasional 'punch screen and stuff that' once in a while.

iPhone not noticed, rarely surf on it.

Clock issue same as others. Don't give in milestone, I'd miss my great adversary!!

The problem here seems to be the browser window getting stuck after the page was rendered, blocking navigation - not the rendering times. I see some ocasional blocks here and a lot of them while using the text edit box. But all client side.

Not what happens when the RC gets excited and the servers are brought to their knees.

milestone, of course it happens more predictably when there are races or tests, but it happens as well on daily basis, I'm sure. Even the IPS messages or the Server Load messages can happen any day, any time, I think. And yes, nobody even pretends to care... But we won't leave, will we? ;)

Getting a response on Website feedback is as likely as having lunch with Ayrton.

After May 1st, 1994, of course! Before that he was more accessible than the powers that be in that feedback threads! For sure he was! :p

The forum clock seems to be getting faster all the time. It's up to 7/8 minutes now (for me, anyway).

All working fine here, and if any machine would have a problem with a website it's this one. She's developed the fantastic habit of closing Chrome, Firefox and TweetDeck if one site on either browser takes more than 10 seconds to load. So far this is the only site to maintain its innocence.

Forum clock is indeed 8 minutes fast though.

Your computer is in such awe of being in my company, it's forgetting what it is meant to be doing and freezing.

Tell us more about your computer and software environment ?

You're running a Sony computer ?

What sort of Operating System (OS) ?

What are you utilizing for a Web Browser ?

How much memory do you have installed ? (sometimes just adding an additional gigabyte of memory will help the situation)

I am going to move this to the feedback forum in the hope it brings more attention to possible technical problems with the board.

I have no problems with autosport pages but I seem to have lot of problems when going away from google owned pages: Google images, Gmail...
Logging off from gmail takes minutes and I'm unable to do with other pages either. Suddenly browser wakes up and works OK.

Not really Feedback forum stuff, but bad Slick moved it here. :p
