Whoever manages to interpret the mood of the Pirelli tyres with the temperature, humidity, track conditions, et. al. of that particular day in Australia will get pole...
So i guess its down to who has the best "tyre whisperer engineer" in their team this year ?.. Didn't they widen the tyre operating window this year in order for less teams to fall through it and for 1 to completely luck out ?

They manipulated the tyres so that they become less durable, so that there are more pit stops, so that, supposedly, the races are more entertaining. From what I have heard during testing, teams still seem to be pretty confused about the tyres and, as ever, it will take them some races to figure them out. Don´t know about the wider operating window, I guess we´ll see in the first couple of races, but as far as the first race goes, yes, I think the lottery effect we had at the beginning of last season will be there this time as well.

Perez
Massa
Grosjean
Webber
Top 10 covered by less than 0.5 seconds. Think pole will be in the mid-high 1 23s
That was harder than I expected, to be honest this top 10 is probably a who's who of drivers that will feature, in some variation or another, at almost every race this year.

In the past when teams have not shown there all in testing do we get to see there true speed in free practice or wait for qualifying?
FP1 doesn't show anything, mainly sorting out, FP2 gives long run indication, FP3 gives us the idea of quali pace due to simulation runs.

Don't ever underestimate a forum members predictions before we have the facit, on the other hand I´m confident I will end with the 'prediction flag' on top.
